BroccoliStump ~ He/Him ~ WarriorThe older Warrior refused to leave Rocky alone. So he simply stayed outside while he watched his daughter go in on her own. He was against it. Fully. But Rocky had said something about how she was just like him, and could hold her own . . . so BroccoliStump was at claw point here. His ears flattened and his green eyes narrowed as he watched for any threats to his daughter, and Moonfurr licked his chest comfortingly. Calming him only slightly. Moonfur ~ She/Her ~ OutsiderThe small female had to convince her mate of her daughters capability. Though she didn't like the face TreePaw didnt know she was going without her father, she knew that she could hold her own. And she was smart, so though she might struggle physically if a fight breaks out, she could slip through the cracks. The young female was good enough to be a full-fletched . . . what had broccoli called it? Warrior? . . . whatever a fully develouped clan member would be. she licked small, comfoting licks into her chest like her used to as his observant eyes watched her leave his sight. TreePaw ~ She/Her ~ ApprenticeTreePaw was embarresed to admit she didn't even realize they were there until her attention was brought to the large tom whom had red markings painted onto his pelt, and she actually looked around to realize the new faces. Though instanrly her energy changed. Previously she had been distracted by fixing up the vines and leaves in her pelt, pretending she was tring to make herself look nice for some special she . . . then she went from sweet, almous nervous and kind to her cold, maked peroffecional self. She hated to know that if any cat had been watching they already knew something about her that many didnt. She focused her attention on the larger tom. The Seer. His voice almost reminded her of her grandfather's, through she hadn't seen him in . . . well, sense she was a fairly young kit. she could barely remember . . . Her eyes widened when she heard Sacerfice. but that was . . . dreadful. her ears droop. But Logic kicks in. Especially as the Seer explained himself. It wasn't just a sacerfice, it was a deal. a contract. simply put. Them giving the sacerfice is the handshake or the signiture . . . . it was a logical systom. Just . . . a dark one . . . Her ears perk back up to listen as the conversation goes on. one of both thunder and shadow? her ears twitch and she blinks slowly as her tail flicks. She takes a small breath as AppleStar steps up himself. She . . . wasn't too suprized. With AppleStar, of course he would give himself up for the clans. The only thing that baffled her, That meant his father was shadow clan. So who? technecally that wasnt her business. She stands and goes to find morningskies, If morningskies becomes leader, will she need a new mentor? what if Lilacivy becomes leader? perhaps one would be leader and the other would remain deputy . . . |

Minkfur- She/Her- Elder The elders mouth went dry as she watched her only apprentice gulp down the herb bundle. Everything about the camp had the she-cats fur on edge; any stares aimed at her were met with an angry snarl. Why Applestar? Did he really think this was the best way to go about it? If the clan had to continue following this hare-brained ritual then this wasn't a sensible solution. Applestar was a leader, not immortal. Looking down she realizes her claws digging into the frosty earth and retracts them. At least Quailbristle isn't where Applestar is now she thinks, glancing at her kin. Quailbristle wasn't immortal either. Minkfur had half the mind to leap at this "seer" and end this idiotic ritual on the spot but she was also wise enough to know the clan couldn't handle another fight. Breammist- She/Her- Warrior All these strange cats were giving Breammist the heebie-jeebies. The seers words did little to calm her heart. River and Wind were fine, but not Shadow and Thunder? Did this mean she was less likely to get attacked than her clanmates? The thought brought no hope, only a rush of guilt. At the mention of two sacrifices Breammist lets out an audible gasp and shrinks back into the group. No. NO. This was awful. Breammist refused to admit this was actually happening. She can practically smell burning fur and hear her leaders pained cries already. She wanted to vomit. She closes her eyes and presses her ears to her head, fighting off the waves of disgust pulsing through her body. She only hoped that Quailbristle or her father didn't see her like this. They probably didn't, the clans eyes were glued to the place their leader would be burned. Breammist was just to disgusted to watch. She had always hated violence and death more than the average clancat. |

Succulentnettle - She/herSucculentnettle struggled to keep up with the rest of Stormclan, continuedly getting distracted and falling behind. She was still averagely close to the back of the cats, and she sped up in order to catch up. Once everyone stopped, she nearly ran into the cat in front of her. Her eyes were too focused on a bird above and she had to trip herself to not run into them. She sprung back up, and looked around. Why did everyone stop? She wondered, curiosity shining in her green gaze. Previously, the sand-dust-colored rosetted cat was following the clan from above; climbing different tree branches, but she had fallen off and forgotten to get back up. Her fur was still littered with twigs, leaves, and many other things, including dried blood she had yet to clean off. The thorn in her paw had left naturally, although there remained a large gash in its place. She had managed to re-open some of her wounds; thanks to all her unnecessary running, but she was too distracted by everything happening to realize or really care. Succulentnettle recognized Applestar's voice and perked her ears up to hear. There was also an attempt to jump high enough to see, but after many tries of that she decided to focus on hearing instead. She didn't know who the second cat speaking was, and it took her quite a few long seconds to realize it must be a sun's garden cat. What are they speaking about? She pondered, her tail quivering in wonder. Her brown ears only managed to catch a few words: Sacrifice, Seer, Half-blood, Starclan, Clowder, Sinister, Consequence..her mind kept getting distracted about what sentence the word could be from and forgetting to listen for the rest, causing her to become very confused. Succulentnettle looked around, lots of cat's face were growing dark. She heard a few mumbling to themselves, and used those words to connect everything that was happening. They sacrifice cats..for protection..and Applestar's halfclan..who's volunteered to die. By using her eyes, she came to the conclusion her clan did not agree with this very much. I bet they require less food and space. She thought, although mildly disappointed they could be losing Applestar; she quite liked his leadership. |

Little Brown - Kit - he/him - Location: Sun's Garden@Blizzardwhisker Little Brown heard snippets of the conversation. "Sacrifice...Nightwalkers..." He blinked in confusion. A lot of words were being exchanged between Applestar and the strange, big cat. Little Brown couldn't understand the majority of the conversation, as fancy words were used and the topic was unfamiliar. What he did understand, however, was Applestar slumping to the ground after eating the herb bundle. Blizzardwhisker had been a bit too late to cover Little Brown's eyes. The kit let out a whimper, thinking the leader was dead. "I-Is he- Is that- poison?" Panic filled his voice despite the fact that Little Brown joined StormClan only yesterday. Crowheart - Warrior - he/him - Location: Sun's Garden@Featherspire The black tom blinked in surprise when he felt someone collide with him. He looked over and recognized the cat as Featherspire. When the medicine cat unsheathed their claws and bristled, Crowheart gave them a small nudge. "Don't look hostile," he muttered, a reminder for both Featherspire and himself. As Featherspire calmed, Crowheart watched Applestar's limp body be moved, his black tail tip twitching in concern. Just yesterday, he had been hostile towards Applestar. Now, Crowheart was reconsidering his attitude towards the leader. |

Frostmane - She/her - Warrior - Location: Sun's GardenHer blood was boiling. These bastards had them trapped. All this voodoo magic had to be a coverup- they really just wanted StormClan to be weakened, to be lost without Applestar. They had to have known he was a big softie, a total pushover that'd do anything for his damned, ungrateful clan. Her amber eyes turned on the Seer, her hackles bristling as she prepared to step forward. The violent molly raised a claw. "How dare you-" Something stirred in the corner of her vision. It was Magpie, striking at her mercilessly with her claws unsheathed. Frostmane was able to duck out of the way within the nick of time, barely managing to spare her own ear. "Don't you dare make my son's sacrifice go in vain!!" The senior warrior sobbed uncontrollably, the fur along her spine standing up as she circled the large white she-cat. "I've already lost so much...my honor, my dignity, all his littermates....his father. And now, my only son! He loved you all so damned much, regardless of how cruelly you treated him! And this is how you try to repay him- betraying his final act of love, to give you all a chance of live? You're despicable." Magpie snarled at Frostmane before she slowly slouched over, quivering from the grief that overwhelmed her so. The white warrior slowly shrank back with a sharp frown. She never knew her mentor was half clan- she wanted to hate Applestar for it, but...for whatever reason, she couldn't find it within herself to hate him. Frostmane allowed the senior warrior to grieve, while her own fiery amber eyes rested on the Seer and his Heiress. Magpie sobbed softly to herself. "...If you're there, I know you probably don't want to hear from me." Her pitiful gaze was raised to the sky, dyed red by the setting sun. "Please, Darkstar, please watch over him." Nightglory - She/her - Heiress - Location: Sun's GardenThe gruesomeness surrounding their traditions did not shake those that were bred and raised within Sun's Garden. It was something they'd grown up on, something they respected, something they considered a norm. It was a great honor to be chosen. Because of one cat's sacrifice, the rest of the clowder could live in general safety, so long as they didn't stray too far from home at night. So long as they weren't a novice or kitten, too susceptible to the sneakiness of the Nightwalkers when they strayed from the safety of the den at dusk. She could still remember the screams of her littermates on that fated evening... Her eyes were initially warm, eagerly stretching her neck to look at the strangers her age. One had smelled faintly of leaves, which was funny- were they an herbivore, like squirrels? Another was ginger and white, while the final had large paws. Maybe they could be her friends- maybe someone around her age would finally be her...- They acted strange. They were distraught, angry, aggressive even. Why were they so upset that their leader was willing to let them survive another moon? Couldn't they see the honor in it? Why weren't they rejoicing? The curiosity and kindness in Nightglory's eyes quickly faded, drowned out by the growing sense if mistrust and betrayal. She stepped back, feeling her hind legs bump against her father, who stood tall and stoic before the upset clan cats. "His body may not be touched. To remove him would be to undo everything, and make it for naught. It would not bring him back, but only doom you all to a merciless death." The antler-wearing tom rumbled before glimpsing down at his Heiress. Nightglory attempted to stand taller in the light of his attention. "Heiress," he regarded his daughter with an authoritative tone. "See to it that the strangers are given a place to rest and recuperate in camp. Educate them of our customs. It is imperative that they wear the proper garb to avoid any accidents." The Seer took a step back, turning his back on StormClan and returning to his cave. The she-cat cleared her throat. "Of course, father." She responded with a quick, respectful nod of her head as he retreated off to their private quarters. Ugh- why her? She thought they could be friends at first, but these cats were weird. Maybe the rumors were true. Maybe they couldn't be trusted, like all the other outsiders. They seemed ungrateful, violent...not much different from the Nightwalkers themselves. Nightglory stepped forward with a half-hearted swish of her tail. "I can show you all to your sleeping quarters. You'll need to wear mud, and adding some feathers or leaves doesn't hurt. The sacrifice keeps you safe in camp, but it won't guarantee safety outside of it. The disguise helps ward off Nightwalkers, that is, it makes them hard to recognize you as a cat." Yup- they only liked the taste of cat blood, really. |

Fadedpaw - MCA - she/they - Location: Sun's Garden@anyone They felt... Frozen. Stuck in place as the odd cats watched with no fear, and almost pride that a cat willingly killed themself. After the cat, Amberblaze they figured out, stopped them from running to Applestar. Now, they all stood watching as their leader died. He was gone, body burning... Was he really gone? What about the lives he had left? Did he even have more than one life? Her eyes caught Nightglory, the young cat standing next to this group's leader. She mentioned adding mud and other things to disguise themselves. A quick look around told her it wasn't a joke, as the other members were adorned in some array of said decorations. Fadedpaw's fur was already messed up, ruffled, covered in blood, so she guessed some mud and leaves wouldn't feel much different. Amaryllis "Mari" - Scout - she/her - Location: Sun's Garden@anyone Mari took a look ahead of her. These new cats were quite odd, from what she could tell from her spot. They were small, a few here and there stood out for their height, ranging close to the clowder, but at least two of them were pure white, with no cover in their fur. Like a beacon. She thought. They won't survive being center of attention like that. Not only were they tiny spotlights for the nightwalkers, they looked terrified. Why? Their leader gave himself to save them, peacefully, rather than the brutal deaths she was sure they saw from the nightwalkers already. If there was ever a death to be proud of, it'd be this one. When Nightglory explained to them to cover their fur, and where they'd sleep, Mari slipped from the gathering, getting ready for nighttime. |

Caladium/Cal-Sentinel-He/him-Location: Sun's GardenCaladium stood near the front of the crowd who had gathered to hear the Seer greet the newcomers. The outsiders' group seemed rather small and well... quite pitiful. It was clear that they had had a run in with the Nightwalkers, it was a miracle that they had even survived the night and made it this far. But if he had heard correctly, Rho had been the one who had brought them here. Caladium's lip curled when the members of Stormclan began to raise a fuss over their leader sacrificing hinself. How selfish could they be? His amber eyes looked over the small group and his eyes landed on two pure white cats. Much like Rho, he was fascinated by their fur. It was rare to see cats with fur as white as snow because they never lasted long. Caladium wasn't sure if mud or feathers and leaves would be effective or not in hiding them. His gaze lingered on the snowy tom and he was surprised to see he was missing a leg. He felt a flicker of respect for him for surviving but that didn't erase his suspicion towards the outsiders. It was his job to observe and protect. He continued looking over the newcomers and his eyes landed on the smallest cats, they had to be novices. One of them was a white she-cat with ginger patches, and though she was not pure white, her fur would surely be a weakness. Newpaw- Apprentice-She/her-Location: Sun's GardenNewpaw shivered at the mention of covering themselves with mud, feathers or leaves in order to disguse themselves. "Do we have to?" She asked quietly, looking up at her mother. "Yes, Newpaw." Skystripe answered, giving her daughter a gentle lick between the ears. Newpaw carefully peeked around her mother to get another glimpse of Applestar. The leader she had always seen as intimidating and unapproachable. He had sacrificed himself for the clan, and she admired his courage. She just wish he hadn't chosen this moment to demonstrate it. A squeak of alarm escaped her when she realized that there was a large tom with long sable fur watching the clan rather intently. Skystripe's eyes widened in surprise at the noise and she looked at Newpaw worriedly. "Sorry... it was nothing." Newpaw answered sheepishly. The young apprentice was just feeling overly jittery being in such a strange place. |

Morning'Skies - Deputy - She/Her - Location: The Suns GardenMorning'Skies watched the conversation between the seer and Applestar. When she heard them talk about a sacrifice of Shadow and Thunder she went to step up, I could sacrifice myself, they have lilacivy to be the deputy, She thought. Applestar then ate a bundle of herbs, one that would make him fall asleep forever. He is both Thunder clan and Shadow clan!? I did not see that, and he's sacrificing himself for the whole clan. Will he come back to life? Does he still have his nine lives? Lost in thought Morning'Skies didn't even notice when they placed him on the pyre. When she did she was very upset, not mad though, he made this choice to save the clan. Morning'Skies hadnt known Applestar that long, he was a great leader it seemed. Nightglory came after, she explained that they would have to wear mud and other things like feathers or leaves. She shivered at the thought, Morning'Skies was not excited about having stuff in her fur all the time. Gold'Breeze - Warrior - She/Her - Location: The Suns GardenGold'Breeze sat next to Cloversong once they arrived at The Suns Garden. It was a fairly long journey, nothing compared to the journey to Storm clans camp though, if it was even their camp anymore. Gold'Breeze was close enough to the front to hear everything the two were saying, a sacrifice? Who would they choose? She wondered. Then Applestar stepped up, eating the deadly bundle of herbs in front of him. Gold'Breeze wasn't usually one to lash out, she yelled out at the seer "Why would take our leader! This is crazy." After saying those words she felt terrible, she just yelled about their traditions, telling them they were wrong. Applestar had made the choice not them, he did it to protect their clan. They carried Applestars body to the pyre, and Gold'Breeze would never be able to talk with him again and it was her fault. If she didn't just ignore him after becoming a warrior maybe they could have been friends again. Nightglory came after they had taken Applestars corpse to the pyre, she explained about their sleeping quarters and that they had to disguise themselves with mud and feathers or leaves. Gold'Breeze didnt mind, when she was a medicine cat she constantly had leaves in her fur. |

Chrysanthemum "Chrys" - Stalker - they/them - Location: Sun's Garden@anyone Chrysanthemum was at the back of the crowd, trying their best to see what was going on. They heard the Seer and someone who seemed to be the strange cats' leader speak, as well as some murmuring among the strangers. They sound upset. Why? It wasn't that Chrys didn't know that the strangers' leader had sacrificed himself - it was that they didn't understand why that was so upsetting. It was an honorable way to pass. Plus, they had heard something about someone having extra lives to spare. So... maybe he's not dead? Chrys thought. This fascinated them, and Chrys could already feel a million questions bubbling up inside them. But then, outsiders are always- "Outsiders are always trouble, Chrys." A stern voice interrupted Chrys' train of thought. Chrys blinked and realized the owner of the voice was already right next to them. They had been too engrossed in their thoughts to notice. "Snakeroot," Chrys greeted the older cat, who gave Chrys a protective lick on the head. "I thought you were at the front of the crowd earlier," Snakeroot murmured, already knowing why Chrys was now at the back. Chrys shrugged, "There were others." As Nightglory gave instructions to the strangers, the two moved away from the crowd with Chrys looking back, trying to catch another glimpse of the strangers. Crowheart - Warrior - he/him - Location: Sun's Garden@Featherspire Crowheart's blood ran cold when Magpie spoke of Darkstar. Darkstar... Darkstar, leader of ShadowClan... Darkstar, the cat Crowheart had looked up to and been loyal to... was Applestar's father? This time, it was he who needed support. He leaned against Featherspire as his head spun. First, Applestar was half-Clan, and now, Darkstar had a ThunderClan mate? What? He caught only snippets of Nightglory's instructions. Mud...leaves...disguise... His gaze flickered over to Applestar's body, to Magpie, then to Nightglory. |

Amberblaze - warrior - they/shelooking for Stormclaw The tabby backed away from the front of the crowd, craving invisibility. The eyes of the Sun's Garden residents seemed to slice through the entire clan, and they could feel the disapproval from these strangers. Even Nightglory's gaze seemed to have hardened at Applestar's sacrifice. The smell of burnt fur pushed her even further back, desperate to hide behind someone or find some semblance of safety. Safety, they thought, no better cat that Stormclaw to be able to ground Amberblaze. It was such an abhorrent practice, first this ceremony now the covering of their fur. Most cats fur had become hardened with blood and muck from the battle that they'd never had the chance to wash off. All of the day had been spent mourning or reconnecting. The tabby was light on her paws, moving with belly close to the ground as they looked for Stormclaw. Lilacivy - deputy - he/himThe tom was broken from his frozen state by the smell of fur that had filled his nostrils. He wanted to inspire the clan to be agreeable and complicit. There was no point in making an enemy of these cats after Applestar had already made such sacrifice. The weight of potential leadership fell between him and Morningskies, and he had no issue rising to meet the expectations left for him by his leader. "We will follow you," he nodded to Nightglory before turning to the clan, "There is no point in wasting what Applestar has done for us, and we don't need any more enemies. We can and will survive this." Lilacivy only hoped his voice had carried to all of the clan before him. "Let us learn and help each other. If there are any questions please seek out myself or Morningskies for the time being." His gaze returned to Nightglory expectantly; he hoped there wouldn't be any aggression between the groups. Of course, the entirety of Stormclan had been shocked and defiant to the idea of their sacred rituals, but surely they would understand how outlandish it was for the strangers (Stormclan) that had come only expecting help rather than consequence. |
