quailbristle — she/he/they — lake

@lost

he flinches at the sudden contact of Lost's tail on his flank, and he growls, shaking his head. "no, no, i'm alright, it's nothing." his tone is forceful enough to make it obvious he wasn't in the mood to talk about feelings or whatever. He wasn't going to vent to the first cat he saw. quailbristle felt guilty that he had made it so obvious he wasn't well— no cat deserved to be spending time with someone in such a sad funk.

"we do move sometimes. When a rival clan discovers where our camp is, or our old one gets destroyed and we can't live there anymore. It's nice having someplace to live, always." she frowns when Lost turns their head away, but she can see the tightening of the skin around their muzzle and assumes that they're feeling bad. she pulls herself up, and, after hesitating for a moment, and rests a paw on their shoulder, finding the warm skin alluring. They weren't completely bald, like she had suspected, rather, they had a fine layer of fuzz coating them. Like a baby mouse.

"you outsiders don't have permanent camps?" quailbristle asks. "well then, you'd like our camp. you should see it— it's nice and cozy, although a little bit messy. We were.. we were just fighting the Nightwalkers, you know. You'd like it." He then bristles. That came off as a invitation. What would StormClan think? Quail bringing back a hairless loner right after they got massacred? Lost was good company, Quailbristle liked that about them, but StormClan wouldn't be as happy about them as he was.

Quailbristle grins, and she rumbles as a purr echoes from her throat. She doesn't speak though. Her, a great warrior? She had run off from a patrol because she didn't want to see her dead sister. She had gotten in a argument with Frostmane, already worsening the tensions. She hadn't even been able to kill one of the Nightwalkers. She was eating prey with a loner who, although charming, wouldn't be welcomed in the clan in a heartbeat. Quailbristle id a bit flustered from her train of thoughts, and she meows, "y-yeah."

Lilacivy - deputy - he/him - lake

@/Breammist
"Really!" His ears perked up as he rose to his full height. He quickly shrunk back down a bit at the tension in his shoulders. It was quite selfless of the she to offer after she had expressed valid concern over issues that could arise during teaching. "I don't want to put you into a position where you feel uneasy or unsafe. Perhaps I can participate in lessons until I am good enough, and then I can just watch practice. Er.. lessons, like a bodyguard," he spoke excitedly, "Not that you need one! I think it's just smart to have backup incase one of the cats decides to say something or act some way out of line. I could definitely talk to Applestar about making these lessons a real clan activity. If you're alright with that of course."

blizzardwhisker — she/her — deaf — clearing —>medicine den
@requested interaction with fadedpaw, open to others

she snarls as she combs out the sticky blackish blood of the Nightwalker she had slain, stepping away from the area where her enemy once stood, now reduced to a stinking pile of sludge. It was unpleasant on the nose, and even more so on the eyes. it would take ages to clean out of her fur, she suspected. there were more important things to worry about as well— far more important then the quality of her pelt, although she dreaded the idea of the blood drying and making her grooming all the more difficult.

Her opponent wasn't the only one who had lost blood. blizzardwhisker bled from what seemed to be a thousand cuts, her once neat ears nicked to oblivion, and a ugly gash of a scar that ran from her chest to her under-rump. It would scar, surely, and she was eternally grateful that her coat was thick enough to shield her stomach from the Nightwalker's claws diving any deeper into her, or she'd be joining Fallenspirit and Fernshade on the corpse pile.

a thrumming of paws makes her look up, and she sees Frostmane, Stormclaw, Goldbreeze, and Quailbristle running into the forest, and Blizzardwhisker assumed it was rage driving them. Well, it was their bodies. Blizzardwhisker wouldn't miss them— disrespectful fellows, those young cats were. Especially Frostmane. Every time she saw that she-cat snap something she considered cuffing her over the ears. The others weren't the most pleasant either— Goldbreeze was tolerable, although Blizzardwhisker couldn't understand why she'd ever want to stop being a medicine cat;  Stormclaw was brash, although good-natured. Quailbristle was a interesting cat, annoying and argumentative, but sensitive and loving. Blizzardwhisker wanted to study the peculiar she-tom more. If he came back at all— or she'd just be watching a corpse. The thought made her scowl. No cat deserved to die so young. Regardless if she liked them or not.

The heat of adrenaline ebbing from her body brought way to sharp pain, and she gasps as red oozed from her stomach. She had to get that checked. Limping on her paws, she ducks into the medicine cat den, and flinches when she notices the calamity. So many cats— Snowwhisper and Newpaw and Mousecatcher— Beepurr, Heatherstump, it was awful. She considered stepping out then and there, give the healers room to work, but she stops when she feels blood pooling around her ankles. This couldn't wait- nono.

She searches the den and eyes Fadedpaw, hard at work, and Heatherstump, busy as well. Featherspire was nowhere to be seen, and Blizzardwhisker frowns. Oh well. She pads over to Fadedpaw, and brushes her shoulder with her tail.

Scars hurt. She signs, indicated as a slash mark, then a jerk of her paw to signify the pain. Take your time. She waves her paws dismissively, points to Fadedpaw, then sweeps her tail towards the other patients, and sits down nearby, licking her torso.

@Succulentnettle

After what seemed like an eternity they reached the entrance of the med-cat den.However at the worst moment her leg gave out,she tryed to fall to the side so Succulentnettle could catch her but instead she fell forward."I hate foxes."she hissed as she tried to get her footing again but she was out of strength.Finnaly she managed to get to her paws but she was unsteady,She limped in the den alongside Succulentnettle whom she still was leaning on."hello"she mewed as she waited for the medicine cat to respond.

Fadedpaw - MCA - she/they - Location: Medicine Den

@Blizzardwhisker

They survey the medicine den, taking count of cats who were still there waiting to be treated, or those who had gone to rest in the now crowded cove of patient nests. Resting cats who need less treatment may have to be moved to another den, and those with serious or fatal injuries would stay here, they proposed to themself. Eyes scanned over to the shelves of medicine and herbs, they were running out, and still many cats needed help. There weren't many salves left, though, they wouldn't bring it up to Heatherstump or Featherspire, they were sure the two already knew that.

A feeling on her shoulder made her jump slightly, furs standing on end as she was still in fight or flight mode. It didn't seem to be going away anytime, not until the clans as truly safe. "Hm?" She let out, mouth closed, as if to ask "yes, what is is?" And she turned, only to see Blizzardwhisker, the older cat who could not hear. She signed to Fadedpaw, movements of her paw that the apprentice had picked up on, working with elders who had lost their hearing with age. Letting her know her scars hurt and to not rush, Fadedpaw looked over the den again. Some were being treated by Heatherstump, and while this cat was here now she figured it wouldn't be bad to work on what was in front of her.

"Don't worry, I'll help you." They spoke, knowing Blizzardwhisker could read their mouth, but also trying their best to convey it to her with their paws. Fadedpaw looked left and right, eyes landing on the healing salves they had been using. They pick it up and pad back over to Blizzardwhisker. "Let me put this onto your scars." They say, again using their paws to point to themself, then made a slashing notion. They point to the salve, and circles their paw in the air.

blizzardwhisker — she/her — deaf — med den

@fadedpaw, ivyshade, succulentnettle

blizzardwhisker only catches the words 'i'll help', and assumes that they mean that they'll get to her. She glances around the den, licking the blood from her jaws, and flinches when sudden movement by the den entrance draws her attention. It's two cats, A rosette and a tabby, who she recognizes as Succulentnettle and Ivyshade. They both look freshly injured, too new to be from the Nightwalker invasion.

Blizzardwhisker glances back to Fadedpaw as the young molly pads back with a salve in tow, and signs a simple message that they were going to apply the salve. Blizzardwhisker glances back to Succulentnettle and Ivyshade, and then shakes her head, signing, 'no. salve them, then me.' shown as shaken head, her paw pointed towards the two mollies, the circling sign for healing, then she points back to herself.

Lost-They/Them-Outsider

@Quailbristle
They immediately remove their tail from Quailbristles pelt. "Alright, sorry for being so forward." Lost feels the warrior doesn't want to talk about it, and they can understand that.

Quailbristles paw on their shoulder jolts them out of their thoughts, and they give the tabby a grateful look. "Yes, we rarely stayed in one place for too long, always on the move. I think we made a permanent camp during one moon-season when the cold was a bit too much for our elders, but even then it just lasted that season. Then, we were moving again." Lost lets out a blissful sigh at the memories. "It would be interesting to see your camp but…" Lost notices Quailbristles pelt raise, "I don't think I would be too welcome at the moment, eh?" They say this with no disappointment, just a fact being stated.

"Though…. Are those Night-Walkers another rival clan that followed you?" Lost visibly looks worried. Stormclan might chase them from their home, but those Night-Walkers were more likely to kill them from the sound of it. Not that Lost wasn't good at self-defense, but they were significantly weaker than usual due to the seasons of sleeping and eating only what was needed to hold on. That, and Lost didn't have a thick pelt of fur to protect them like these clan cats did. They only had the twoleg pelt, and Lost didn't want to risk that getting ruined as in this frigid weather no fur was basically a death sentence.

Lost can't help but purr alongside Quialbristle, proud of themselves for being able to make the tabby happy.

Minkfur-She/Her-Elder

Open to interraction
The medicine den was getting too crowded for the elders' tastes. She had never done well in small spaces considering the she-cats large size. Grunting in pain as she gets up, she nods a goodbye to the cats she was chatting with and limps into the clearing. She lays down a short distance away however, her leg refusing to let her go any further. Good thing it'll heal, Minkfur soothes herself. Sighing, she swivels her head around to try and find Quailbristle. Frostmanes idiotic possy was back, so shouldn't her grandkid be as well? The dark tabby didn't appear in camp however, and Minkfur sighs and closes her eyes. He's a smart kid, she'll be back soon.

Breammist-She/Her-Warrior

@Lilacivy
"A…bodyguard?" Breammist mewls in surprise. What an odd suggestion! A loud purr rumbles from her throat as she smiles at the lilac tom. "Yes, I don't think I would mind that terribly." Lilacivy's unabashed excitement warmed the blue warrior's heart, and she can't help but think that the deputy looked rather…..cute? Huh. She's never really considered any other cats cute before…. Frogs and birds were cute, but Lilacivy? Breammist shakes herself out of those thoughts; she can ponder later. Now, she should stop staring at the deputy blankly and maybe respond to their statement. "Yes I think I would be alright with that…. Would Applestar really agree? I don't know him very well, though I suppose I don't know a lot of former Thunderclan cats very well in the first place."

Fadedpaw - MCA - she/they - Location: Medicine Den

@Blizzardwhisker, Ivyshade, Succulentnettle

She was about to apply the salve, when Blizzardwhisker cut her off. She told Fadedpaw to heal the cats whom she pointed to, Ivyshade and Succulentnettle. One leaning on the other and both bloodied. They seemed to be fresh, fresher than the nightwalkers' attack. Looking back to Blizzardwhisker, she said "Wait here, I'll be back," Holding her paw up to say wait, not sure how to sign the next but. Though, based on it being her instruction, Fadedpaw was sure Blizzardwhisker knew what she meant.

Padding over to the two cats with the salve in their mouth, they heard a mewed "hello" from Ivyshade. "I'm here, what happened? Where does it hurt? Where is it bleeding the most?" They started, worry dripping from their tongue, fear that the nightwalkers may have returned.

@Blizzardwhisker,Fadedpaw, Succulentnettle

"Well I was in the forest I had caught a vole and I was about to catch something else but i was ambushed,by a fox.It pinned me and injured my neck really badly,thankfully Succulentnettle showed up and fought it off."She wheezed,She then broke out in a coughing fit as she coughed blood started dripping from her neck again."As for where it hurts my neck hurts really bad and my paws have a few splinters in them,and i have a few scratchs on my upper back."She wheezed."My neck is deffintly bleeding the most."She mewed in a coarse voice as she broke out in another coughing fit.She sat down on the ground as she tried to catch her breath.

quailbristle — she/he/they — outside camp

@lost

"thank you." quailbristle is glad they understand, and that brightens her mood, at least a little. Would Hawkcry approve of her spending time with this loner? Surely not. Maybe it was dishonoring her by being here, with Lost. She wouldn't want this if she was alive. Hell, if she was here, she'd probably snap something like, "Come on Quail, are you really going to be flirting with some rogue instead of helping the clan?" and then Quailbristle'd remark back "Oh, Hawkcry, you know i'd never fall for a loner. I have more important things to worry about. "Worry about tailing after Frostmane, huh? And the two siblings would collapse into a tussle that ended with laughing and kitlike purrs.

Frostmane probably didn't care if he was speaking with Lost, although maybe a rude comment would be on his way. As usual, he'd return it with equal banter. He enjoyed that— that easy, meaningless arguing that never hurt anyone. Although sometimes Quailbristle wished he could spend time with Frostmane that was actually worth something, not brash hisses thrown at each other. maybe when he got back at camp, he'd try talking to her. He needed someone to speak to.. someone in the clan.

"no, but i'd love to take you there." Quailbristle purred, rolling to her side. "You'd like my grandaunt Minkfur. She's sweet and charming, but packs quite the scratch. Goldbreeze is really sweet too, so gentle and kind.. oh, and you'd love my… my.." quailbristle frowns. Should she tell Lost that Bluedawn wasn't related to her? Well… they weren't in StormClan. Surely it wouldn't matter? "Well, Bluedawn is really great, and my uncle Mousecatcher is friendly."  She ruffles her pelt as water splashes on her paws, cold and soothing all the same. "I think you'd really like Fadedpaw. She's younger then me, a apprentice, but sweet and energetic. I hope she's well."

Quailbristle shivers and shakes his head. "I don't know. They came last night out of nowhere, and just attacked us. I think the only reason you survived was because you were alone."

Enjoying Lost's company, but feeling uneasy as the minutes ticked by away from camp, Quailbristle was unsure. Should he leave this friendly sphynx, and risk never seeing them again? return back to StormClan, bury his sister? he didn't know. he wanted Lost to come along but… StormClan couldn't handle any more new arrivals. Eventually he decides.

"I.. i have to go. Do you mind walking with me as far as our camp barrier?"

blizzardwhisker — she/her — deaf — med den
@fadedpaw, ivyshade, succulentnettle, minkfur

blizzardwhisker watches solemnly as fadedpaw tends to the injured warriors, and she rests her azure gaze on minkfur, who is slinking out of the den, and settling herself close by. Close enough to where Fadedpaw can tend to her once she's done. She pads over to the grey tabby-and-white, and presses her paw on the elder's flank to let her know she was there.

"That lookss bad." Blizzardwhisker meows, slower then average, and slightly slurred. She signs alongside her words, indicated as a simple point to her leg and slash, then a grimace.
