Fadedpaw - MCA - she/they - Location: Medicine Den@Featherspire, Ivyshade, Succulentnettle Fadedpaw was pressing the now red cobwebs into Ivyshade's wounds, the older cat not looking well, and certainly not looking like Fadedpaw had seen her before. She pressed harder, whipping her head up at the sound of Featherspire's voice. "I don't, I need," She tried, her voice getting caught up in her own panic. Seriously? The voice washed over her head. Almost 12 moons, and you're stuttering and panicking like a kit. "She's, she's, a fox got her, she's losing a lot of blood." Pull yourself together! How are you going to become a medicine cat if you can't even speak?! Her heart was racing, they couldn't lose another clanmate, the nightwalkers we're gone! "I need help stopping the blood." She finally managed, looking at Featherspire, eyes wide. |

Succulentnettle - She/her - Location: Medicine Cat DenSucculentnettle watched as Ivyshade fell, the concern visible in her forest-green eyes. Is her leg broken? This is the second time she's fallen.. She worried, stepping over to her and giving the white/gray cat a few comforting licks and wondering why she wanted honey. What's so special about honey? Succulentnettle noticed the panic in Fadedpaw's actions as she hurried around, interrupting her distracted thoughts. As she looked down at Ivyshade, she began to realize just how bad the situation was - so she stepped back a bit to allow the multicolored brown and slightly orange cat to do there job. She looked up just as the skinny chimeric medicine cat, Featherspire, entered the medicine cat den. Succulentnettle wondered why they came instead of Heatherstump, since that was who Fadedpaw had called over. She looked at all the cats inside the medicine cat den, and wondered if this would be a good time to slip away. Ivyshade certainly needs food by now. The she thought, once again getting distracted and allowing herself to forget how bad the situation was. Succulentnettle began to slowly step out of medicine cat den, doing her best not to be suspicious despite that fact that she was still quite hurt as well. That fox was dangerously strong, and if she was observant enough and stopped getting distracted for once, she'd probably be in at least half as much pain as Ivyshade was. Luckily for her, being quiet was something she was good at - if only Succulentnettle would stop being curious about what the medicine cats were doing and go faster, her curiosity was drastically increasing her chance of being seen leaving. And if she had noticed the pain the thorn in her back paw was causing her, she'd probably be limping. Despite being told by Fadedpaw to stay earlier, she had already forgotten and therefore the rosetted brown/gold cat thought she was doing the right thing. After all, all she wanted was to help the clan. To her, that meant doing her warrior duties, like getting fresh-kill for the prey pile so that the clan would have more food than dead bodies. |

BroccoliStump ~ He/Him ~ Warriorthe large tom purrs as he grooms his mate, that he hasn't seen in so, so long. he takes in her scent, marking every change that was made to her sense they last met. oh, how he had missed her! she rubs against him softly and he wraps his tail around her. "i'm so, so sorry, rocky . . ." he eventually mews softly. he felt bad, about having to leave her, about leaving BlackKit with her . . . he would be blackpaw, now, right . . .? "Where . . . where's blackpaw?" he immidately regreats the words as he sees pain enter his mate's crimson eyes. "When . . . i first got here, he was with me, but . . ." she shakes her head. "The nightwalkers got him the first night . . ." she whines slightly, and he watches as she looks at the ground, her mind probably reliving the horrible night. "i couldn't save him . . ." she lifts her tail. "and i got hurt too . . ." Moonfur ~ She/Her ~ OutsiderMoonfur rubs against BroccoliStump, the joy overfilling her as she hears him purr, and it coaxes a purr from herself aswell. and for a long time, the two just sit there. Moonfur can feel TreePaw's eyes on them, but they wearn't doing anything she didn't want her to see, so she doesnt really mind it. Eventually, BroccoliStump musters an apology, before asking about . . . Moonfur's heart drops. BlackKit. She was already reliving the memories of losing her only son, "When . . . i first got here, he was with me, but . . ." she whines slightly and shakes her head slightly. "The nightwalkers got him the first night . . ." She whines more, looking at the ground as tears threaten to well in her eyes again. "i couldn't save him . . ." she gestures slightly to her tail. "and i got hurt too . . ." |

Lilacivy - deputy - he/him - lakeThe deputy tilted his head at the she behind him, turning completely to try and understand what could be so funny. He shook the water from his paw and realized that the laughter was indeed intended towards his actions. His skin warmed beneath his fur as some rose in embarrassment. Surely it hadn't been that bad, he thought, or perhaps it had. It was definitely the worst of his two showings, but it wasn't for lack of trying. The tom quickly calmed as he took in the full image of Breammist's joy. It was warm, inviting, bright even against the dark times the clan had been trudging through. "I am glad I could provide today's entertainment," he bowed ever so slightly to the she, hoping it would encourage more laughter. |

Newpaw-Apprentice-She/her-Location: Camp@Snowwhisper The little apprentice heard her mentor, slowly tearing her gaze away from their fallen clanmates in order to look at him. She knew he was right but there was a small part of her that believed otherwise. Perhaps if she had fought harder... fought longer... maybe she could have been more useful. Instead, she had essentially been like helpless prey amongst savage predators. Newpaw pinned her ears back in distraught as she looked at her mentor. He had saved her from the Nightwalkers and had lost his leg because of her. Newpaw had been aware of the fact that Snowwhisper had lost his mother... if the apprentice hadn't needed rescuing, then perhaps Snowwhisper could have saved his mother. Survivor's guilt. She was sure that all of the cats who had survived the night were feeling it to some extent. "Snowwhisper... do you think Starclan will welcome them?" The young she-cat asked hesitantly, her voice soft and weak. Newpaw was also aware that Starclan was a very sensitive topic lately, but she couldn't stop the question from leaving her mouth. Cloversong-Warrior(?)-She/her-Location: Med. Den@Minkfur, Blizzardwhisker, Little Brown, Anyone Cloversong listened to Blizzardwhisker and Minkfur's interaction with half-hearted interest. Her paws itched as she slowly grew frustrated with her lack of sight. Plus, she was never one to sit still for very long, she longed to be doing something. Anything really. Carefully she got to her paws, her legs and shoulders feeling extremely stiff from lying in her nest for so long. Ever so carefully she tentatively stretched her legs, giving a small groan both from pain and relief. It felt good to stretch but it also hurt her muscles to do so. The black furred she-cat scented the air slowly, she knew that the medicine den was crowded at the moment. And Little Brown was around there somewhere, she was afraid that she'd accidentally step on the poor kit or some cat's tail. Stormclaw-Warrior-He/him-Location: Camp@Amberblaze The big silver tom was a little shocked when Amberblaze rubbed their cheek against his, but he wasn't complaining. He felt a purr rise in his throat at the contact. It was gentle and comforting, and despite everything that had happened he also felt as though nothing could touch him. Sure, it was a cliche thought but he felt more comfortable with Amberblaze then he did with most cats, aside from his sisters of course. "It's okay, Amberblaze. You did what you had to do, I'm just glad you're safe." He answered. He listened to her question, and he was touched by the fact she cared so much. "Yes, I'll be fine. Just gonna have a big scar on my face for the rest of my life." Stormclaw added with a chuckle. He knew it wasn't a laughing matter, it was more so a coping mechanism than anything else. A thought suddenly occurred to him, his eyes revealing his anxiety. "You're not hurt anywhere else, are you?" |

Amberblaze - warrior - they/she - campThe chocolate tabby managed a small smile at the purr Stormclaw had released. "I'm fine. Just the ear. although it did make me dizzy at first. I believe I am alright now. Besides, I guess this means we are both scared forever, but we will have quite the story should anyone ask what happened." Amberblaze worried that he may have seen his scar as legitimate detriment to his image and life, but she couldn't care less if he grew a little less fur on his face. The clashing of claws through the night hadn't been easy on anyone within the clan, even those like Breammist who bore no physical scars. Everyone would be stuck with the memory of that night for the rest of their lives despite any physical evidence of it. They wondered if cats would be scared when they came across them, all scared from some great battle. Of course, it could also be the opposite where outsiders would be entranced and intrigued by the array of scars everyone bore. "I am glad you came back," their tone was soft, sweet even, "I was worried for a bit that maybe you would've all found something better out in the forest." |

@Minkfur She purrs a little at Minkfur's obvious enjoyment at learning the new, silent phrases. For her next movement, she twitched her whiskers and pressed her tail to her side, to mimic herbs being applied. "Medicine cat. That's all the ranks." She thinks for a moment, before deciding to teach the more general signals. First, she ruffles her whiskers, and crouches slightly. "prey." Next, she raises the hairs on her shoulders and mimics a claw slash. "Enemy." "You use tail to point." she meows, waving her tail around. "Sou, to signal something like "Enemy Apprentice there," you go…" she raises her hackles, slashes, then slashes again without the claws, and points in a ambiguous direction with her tail. "Not hard." Blizzardwhisker continues to show off a few of the signings she's collected over the years, a bit enthusiastic now that she could finally get someone listening. She shows the circling of your right paw for healing, a ripple of her back fur to signify 'calm down', and tilts her head and closes her eyes to signify 'sleep' or 'tired.' It's a complicated language, and Blizzardwhisker was starting to feel a bit tired teaching so much, but nevertheless she was happy. After a little, she stops . "Now for a test. I will try to talk with you in ..sign. You respond the best you can." She points with her tail to the forest, ruffles her whiskers, slashes, points to herself and gives a tired look, trying to get across the point,'forest enemies are making me tired' meaning the Nightwalkers. Featherspire — He/They/Xe — Med — Med Den @Fadedpaw, Ivyshade "it's okay Fadedpaw, i'm here. go grab some leaves from outside, i need to bind them to the wounds. He dashes over to the meagre herb pile and sticks marigold in his mouth, chewing rapidly, and grasps the stick that held the cobwebs in his jaws, and came back. "It's fine Ivy- you're going to be fine— we won't let you die. Fadedpaw, make sure she doesn't close her eyes. She can't sleep." They spit the herb pulp into their paws and presses it to the wounds, but there were too many, too much blood. "Come on Fadedpaw!" They plead, and they start to bristle in panic. "Nononono, why now? Why did i have to help Treepaw now? Stay awake Ivyshade, you're fine, okay." They run back to the herb pile. Why was it so hard to remember everything now? Their head was spinning… Featherspire sweeps in some leaves and plasters them to Ivyshade before heavily swathing her in cobwebs, but no matter what he did, she was bleeding too much, she was coughing up blood now. He shudders, and feels a ugly note of despair in his heart. "I don't think.. no. Ivyshade, i'm so, so sorry." She wouldn't be making it through this injury, he knew, but he didn't want to say those awful words. |

Fadedpaw - MCA - she/they - Location: Medicine Den@Ivyshade, Featherspire, Snowwhisper, Newpaw Despite the two's attempt, Ivyshade wasn't getting any better. Her wounds kept bleeding, and Fadedpaw could feel ringing in her ears. The wound on her shoulder pulsing, stinging in pain, as she watched the scene. With direction, she quickly scrambled outside, almost knocking into Snowwhisper and Newpaw who her hanging out right outside the entrance. "Sor- I-" She cut herself off, finding some large and loose leaves, rushing herself back inside. Featherspire was trying his hardest to keep her awake, and Fadedpaw had just barely noticed the medicine den was lacking Succulentnettle, but no matter. Ivyshade needed the most attention, and they rushed to her side, propping her eyes open to stop her from falling unconscious. They repeated eyes open, eyes open, eyes open under their breath like a mantra, when Ivyshade coughed. A gross hacking sound, followed by blood. Her injuries were internal, and when Featherspire spoke, Fadedpaw knew his silent words were saying one thing: She's not going to make it. Snowwhisper - Warrior - he/him - Location: Camp@Newpaw, Fadedpaw They were in silence for a beat, somber and sadness washed over them. He should be doing something better with his time, teaching her, providing the clan, not mourning like a kit. But he couldn't help it. What good could he do without his arm? And like he was tossed into a frozen lake, his furs stood on end, hearing the ever so daunting question. It was quiet, and meek. Barely heard, almost as if it didn't want to be. Do you think Starclan will welcome them? He didn't know. How to answer or what he'd even say. Or, more specifically, if they would. The sore subject something every cat wanted answers to, and ever cat but their tongue on. "I-" He had started, when he was cut off by a frantic Fadedpaw. Rushing out of the den, and stumbling over their words. They rushed back in, and Snowwhisper perked his ears, turning to look into the den. "What's going on?" He said to himself out loud, somewhat thankful there was commotion to distract him from Newpaw's question. He didn't want to ignore the apprentice, no, but he also didn't want to answer. Maybe this, whatever was happening, could put off the question for another time. He did truly want to be honest with Newpaw, but he also didn't want to hurt her, or for her to lose hope. |

Newpaw-Apprentice-She/her-Location: CampNewpaw's eyes widened in surprise at the sudden arrival of Fadedpaw. The other apprentice looked disheveled and distraught, which caused a feeling of confusion and worry to rise within the pit of her stomach. Her question to Snowwhisper driven from her mind... at least for the time being anyways. And perhaps it was for the best that she forgot about finding answers to questions that no cat had answers too. She kneaded the ground beneath her paws anxiously, wondering if she should stay or go. Despite Fadedpaw's friendliness, there had always been an air of unease between them. Newpaw wasn't sure if her presence would further upset the medicine cat apprentice or not. It seemed as though something traumatizing was occurring within the den. The white and ginger she-cat glanced towards where her mother and her brother sat over by what used to be the nursery. She glanced back to Snowwhisper and Fadedpaw before deciding to stay. But if she was asked to leave then she would. Stormclaw-Warrior-He/him-Location: CampStormclaw flicked his ear in surprise at her words. Find something better....? He thought to himself. Unlikely. The silver tom wasn't even sure what all was out there, if there was anywhere safe or anywhere that could be considered "better". Not that he would abandon his clan and leave them to face the Nightwalkers alone. And he couldn't imagine leaving Amberblaze behind. With a small jolt of shock, he wondered if that's what Amberblaze had been so worried about. That he would leave without a second thought. He slowly reached out to touch his nose to her cheek. It was a brief touch before he pulled back so he could look them in the eyes, affection in his sky-blue eyes. "I'd always come back; I hope you know that." Stormclaw assured with a small smile of his own. |
