I saw that the amazing Wolffox🐺🦊 was writing a story called Blistering Moon. I decided to follow in her footsteps and create one of my own! NOTE-THIS EVENT OCCURS 5 YEARS BEFORE STORY SECOND NOTE-WRITTEN IN WOLF YEARS Moon awoke to see rosy dawn creeping over the horizon. The air was brisk, and Moon felt the essence of the cold seeping into her limbs, chilling her bones. She could see her rambunctious siblings were still sleeping, tiny snores caught on the wind, carried to her ears. Her brother, Eclipse, was splayed in such an awkward position Moon was shocked he hadn't broken his legs. Moon decided to get up and wonder around. She knew she shouldn't without an older wolf to watch her, but she was eleven now. Surely old enough to be on her own! Moon stood up, shaking the sleep from her protesting body, easing her muscles as the last remnants of sleep fell from her bleary eyes. Moon stood up, frost billowing around her face, wind puffing up her white-grey fur until she began to look like greyscale fairy floss. Moon shook herself one last time and began to walk off towards the forest that the pack's territory was near. Rosy red sunlight shone through the trees as the sun rose above the horizon. It lit up Moon's fur, making her look like she was covered in ethereal blood. The treetops swayed slowly in the gentle breeze, as if shaken by invisible hands. Suddenly, the grass in front of Moon's paws rustled. Moon's ears flattened against her head. She should have stayed within the pack's territory! The grass rustled again. Moon trembled. What if it was a mountain lion, or a lynx? No one would know what had happened to her! The "thing" climbed from the grass, and Moon let out a terrified whimper. She could see its dark fur, its bright azure eyes, exactly like her own. Interesting… Wait, was it..? It looked like… a wolf? Suddenly a howl emanated through the trees, accompanied with savage barks, belonging to Moon's mother and father. The surprised wolf, now revealed to be a pup about Moon's age, turned and fled, and Moon was left with a strange feeling…like that wolf was part of her destiny. |

~CHAPTER ONE~ "WILL WE MAKE IT TO SHELTER?" Shouted Moon over the roaring wind. "WHAT?" Howled back Moon's mother, Ravenpaw. "I SAID WILL WE-OH, FORGET IT," yelled Moon. "WHAT??" "MOON IS ASKING WHETHER WE WILL MAKE IT TO SHELTER," barked Moon's father, the Alpha male Shadow. "SHADOW, DO YOU THINK WE WILL GET TO SHELTER IN TIME?" yelped Ravenpaw. Shadow sighed. "Your mother has little failings, but one of them is that her hearing is…not as good as a typical wolf's. Especially with this awful wind making it worse." "WHAATTT? I'M SURE I HEARED THE WORD 'BEARING'. HAVE YOU FIGURED OUT WHERE WE ARE GOING?" Moon was about to give up when, out of the snow-carrying wind, she saw a dark shape. "A CAVE!" yelped Moon and sprinted towards it. Her parents followed, hot at her heels. "It is good to get out of this awful hurricane," panted Ravenpaw. "Isn't it strange?" said Shadow. "There have been more and more natural disasters lately. First that hailstorm, last week's avalanche and now this? Something is happening." "Pah, you're just being superstitious," complained Ravenpaw. Moon was fairly sure that 'superstitious' did not mean what her mother thought it did. ~two hours later~ Moon was tired. Tired of the hurricane, tired of this cave (which now sported the unpleasant smell of wet wolf), but, most importantly, she was tired of her mother. "When will this all be over?" groaned Ravenpaw for the…57th time if Moon had counted correctly. As if by magic, the roaring wind seemed to calm a little. "Mother? I think we can leave now," said Moon. "We can make it back to the pack. They are probably also partially scattered from the storm, but we will go back to our territory." "Oh, I don't think so." Said a playful voice. "You see, when you are in someone else's territory, they don't particularly like it. Especially if you happen to enemy packs. Why, nice to see you, Ravenpaw, Shadow, and who is this vile creature? Oh, it is your scrawny offspring. How pitiful." Moon slowly turned around, horror and dread building in her throat. Alas, it was who she knew it would be. "How lovely to meet you." Said Venom, the pack's arch nemesis. "Venom!" Hissed Ravenpaw, striding towards him. "Oh, I wouldn't do that," chuckled Venom. He stepped to the right, revealing a "One more step and he dies," chuckled Venom maliciously. |
