release enclave pups in waves

Hi! I hope you're having a good morning/day/night :) The enclave reset at rollover is eagerly anticipated by many Wolvden players. However, most of my friends experience the rollover late at night, causing them to lose sleep to obtain rare pups before they lose the opportunity, or miss it altogether. Personally, the rollover occurs at 3:00 am, so I have never been able to participate. While it's disappointing to miss out, I am more worried about my friends who chose to put Wolvden before their health instead of skipping the enclave reset. I want to make it clear that I am not blaming the Wolvden staff in any way for this. I am aware that this is the decision of the players, all of whom are old enough to make their own choices and understand the consequences. Furthermore, poor sleep schedules are an unfortunate trend in teenagers and young adults without online events added to the equation. I was thinking, if players had a choice to attend an enclave reset during the day, they might not feel pressured to stay up at night. This could be achieved by having 2 separate enclave resets every 12 hours. I understand that this would be a huge change to the game and would take a lot of time, effort, and resources, and would have both positive and negative effects on the game. All I ask is that you consider what I have to say. Ultimately, the positive effects would outweigh the negative effects. Not only would fewer players lose sleep for the event, but fewer players would come online for rollover. This could result in a decrease in lag, which seems to be the players' top complaint. On top of the decrease in site traffic, half the number of wolves would be added to the enclave, which would mean a decrease in the number of pages each player would have to load and could result in even less lag. Lastly, the enclave hype would occur twice a day. This might bolster community spirit and give more incentive to play Wolvden to the portion of the player base who formerly couldn't attend the enclave reset. Some of the downsides to having 2 enclave resets would be the increase of work on the end of the staff and the possibility that lag spikes could occur twice a day. This idea isn't perfect and I completely understand if it doesn't get implemented. I am more than satisfied with this email simply being read, and appreciate the staff of Wolvden taking their time to do so. Y'all are awesome, stay safe, and thank you for your time <3 Elm Email sent by Mobolite (They/Them) |

I once left a low-gen wisp base pup at the Enclave and was so worried they would get overlooked (they didn't!!). The idea of leaving special pups at the enclave feels a lot like r&c sometimes, I hope they make it and that they make someone happy. Another advantage is that it would encourage more people, including older players, to visit the enclave more often. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who comes there just to have a look but then end up adopting more than I can need, special pups or not. Basically, I'm saying it would encourage more pups to get adopted, which I think is nice. I enjoy seeing the pups of my own wolves having their new names and destinies. Plus, I find adoption is more lore-friendly than selling on TC, but that's my own personal preference. The only issue I have is with OP's idea about deleting waves of pups before bringing a new one to keep the page numbers low. The Enclave would then turn into more like a chase pool but for pups, with a small window of opportunity for any pup to get adopted or be deleted forever. That doesn't guarantee more special pups will get adopted. My suggestion would be to reorganize the way the Enclave page looks and functions. I am often really missing a manual page number input or a search function. I have to take notes of pups I like, on which page they were on, their sex/stats/personality, and the whole process of looking for the right pup to adopt takes about 30mins, which is unreasonable. And I really wish there was at least a SOME categories you could sort the pups in, at least by age, stats, personality or sex. A category system would enable people to adopt pups they actually need (or for enclave quests) while the so-called potato pups would get deleted. BUT THAT'S A DIFFERENT ISSUE @Mobolite (They/Them) that is a very well written letter! Well done!! |

I agree with your points about the organization of the enclave and how tedious it can be to go through it |

I understand why they don't allow people to search the enclave. because then they can pick certain attributes that will benefit them right away instead of having to dig through everything. BUT at the same time, I think more people would adopt from the enclave if they didn't have to dig. For instance- those of us who want low generation, certain personalities,Β or to avoid certain bases, or markings. - while yes we can sort through 70-110 pages and search through genetics and TRY to find a second generation with parents that don't have weird bright blue noses, or blue glowing claws.... this game relies so heavily already on dice roll, price,Β planning, and fate... couldn't we have some aspect that was simple and easy? lol |
