That's quite unfortunate and sounds like harassment if it's the same people over and over! (And it doesn't even make sense from the sender's perspective; why send a traveler to someone who's not playing the game and may not take care of them or might keep them?)
I just don't want a repeat of what the traveling game was like on Lioden going on here, where ppl just send their potato lions to strangers and expect them to be looked after/gifted decors/given lore, then sent to a new person. I didn't ask to play, so I don't want to be sent travelers, and I definitely don't want to get in trouble for chasing an unwanted traveler.
The person is a Group founder, apparently people hope the Group founder sends the wolf further down the group's membership? all I know the guy is very much Not Happy with the gift spam.
That could easily be reported! Regardless of what they were spamming you with, it would be considered harassment either way if a player won't leave you alone. But that's a possibility with anything besides travelling wolves, I would simply contact a moderator in that case.
Yeah, this is a second-hand statement of someone's experience, but it just leads to "hey, it'd be nice if there was an easy and definitive way to 100% opt out of this game, and never even get those gift send attempts to begin with".
Not responding to anyone in particular here, but I have had travellers and hosted them and participated in the traveller forum on wolvden (not lioden, I'm not talking about lioden), idk if people know this but it's (at least when I was active??) not really custom to send travellers to random players, you always ask first or they ask you. When a traveller is "stolen" it's usually by someone who agreed to host a traveller and then instead took the wolf as their own, afaik? Just saying so that everyone knows that the "stealing" of a traveller involves lying about your intentions and breaking an agreement. It's not similar to a game function working as intended (f.ex in the event that pups follow their mother instead of staying with the one who bred them) and someone thinking that's unfair. If you have clear established rules that can't be broken because of the game functioning a certain way I don't see how it would be an issue. It's like if I would modbox that it's unfair I can't adopt my own pups from the enclave. It's supposed to be that way
People don't send the wolves to random people, but twice have i claimed a wolf in the Giveaway chat that weren't clearly marked as Travelling wolves. I think something needs to be done for that. It's not a giveaway item. Either it needs its own forum area or it's own chat. Because I'm sure this causes a lot of confusion and will continue to even if the system is implemented
Maybe you can set a traveler's setting on your account so after a specific amount of time, you may just roll over with a traveling wolf in your account? Maybe there could be an option of how many days your traveling wolf can live in a certain person's account?
I absolutely love this suggested feature! All I wanted to add is that perhaps something can be tweaked to allow a traveler to participate in standard activities to increase their stats, be it as a sort of Apprentice or a dual-purpose wolf (Traveler/[insert other role here])? It would be nice for a traveler to return home with the stats to tell of their experience. Thank you so much for putting forth the time and effort to consider this update! I'm just entering the Traveling Wolf game myself, but I'd love for my precious Wanderlust to stay safe, should he ever make a public debut.
