Maybe there is a gameplay reason that coding was developed to keep a player from coming across their own chased wolf in a Befriending encounter, but I sure would like to have that restriction removed. While I understand that the odds would still be slim considering the numbers of wolves getting chased by other players, it sure would be fantastic if there was even a small possibility that I would be able to encounter my own chased wolves. And on the flip side, while there isn't any way to delete a standard NBW instead of chasing it, maybe those disappointing chased game generated NBW encounters would lessen if folks knew they might run into that generic wolf again themselves. If there's a reason removing that code would be detrimental to gameplay, I'm open to being educated. And maybe I'm the only one who wishes this were a possibility and the suggestion will die a very fast death. I just thought I'd throw the idea out with all the other Chased Wolf development suggestions on the chance that there are others who feel the same way. |

Gameplay wise, when I'm chasing the wolves I don't want, why would I like to encounter their downgraded clones to befriend? |

As I mentioned there are a lot of suggestion threads on Chased wolves and I guess my thread was started on the assumption (assuming is never a good idea I know) that some of those other suggestions may come into realization in the future. One of them being the ability to "delete" an unwanted NBW rather than having it potentially join the pool of wolves who are specifically chased with the hope that they make it to a players befriending screen in the near future. And I guess from my perspective - why should only other players have the ability to run into your downgraded clone? If you chase such a wolf, shouldn't you run the risk of running into it too? |

I'll read more into it later and update this comment; but I was linked this topic and I just woke up. I want this to be known, though. I saw a couple times above, people mentioned both "no one is forced into r&c" and "chasing wolves was never intended to be used as it is today". Now those two points need to be really looked at carefully, because if I'm being honest only like a quarter or less of the user base even KNOWS what r&c IS. And because of that, I don't think it really plays into this topic at all. The second thing, however, is actually pretty false. This game was developed off of Lioden. They had plenty of time to realize that people figured out the "chasing methods" back in LD. The "features" of the game were more or less copy pasted with a few very specific deviations but the "intentions" of the "chasing mechanic" were already known before this game was even in production. With that said, that knowledge that people migrating from the sister site already knew how to gain access to "rarer lions" on LD would have already know. How to do it here. That "mechanic" then would have technically been "intended" from the get go. Aight I'ma go back to sleep. I'll look over this later and edit it lmao |

Encountering a wolf chased by somewolf else is different than just a downgraded clone - you may encounter a marking or another appearance you have never owned, a potential to breed for something new. You suggested a mechanic that would affect everywolf, including those who are not interested in raising and chasing and those who would not like to see their own chased wolves because of the trash they were. If you'd like to find wolves chased by yourself, it's because you chase with an intention to have the wolf found and you carry on low generation breeding gameplay. This feature would be dedicated to this small group while putting others at slight disadvantage. |
