Month 11 in Skies Beyond:

It's hailing, Ilimenite is intrigued. She has to stop her expedition because her stomach feels strange, so she goes to Nyla and lists off her symptoms.

''Diarrhea'' said Nyla, matter-o-factly

''Oh, I wonder how I got that?'' commented Ilmenite

''What was the last thing you did?''

''I was digging in some coyote droppings because it smelled like herbs''

Nyla rolled her eyes.

''You know, I won't be able to do my job well if you keep doing that''

''But you need herbs, right?

Ilmenite gets sent to quarantine cove and Nyla and Herbert start working on a diarhea cure

Nyla has finally finnished Ilmenite's diarreah cure. She tells her to inhale the charchoal smoke for as long as she can and wait a day

its sleeting, Ilmenite is intrigued. She brings some of the ice into the den for her pups to paw at.

the scouts and the hunters relax together. Squirrel asks Birch if they could scout Coniferous forest together.

It's foggy, Ilmenite and Raincloud are intrigued. Raincloud asks Olivine if she can be in the fog. Olivine says that she'll allow it as long as her siblings come too. Only Raincloud wants to be in the fog. Panther also wants to at first but he sees that Moss is scared of it so he stays with her. It's at this point that Ilmenite comes back and brings Raincloud to play in the fog, she tells her what it's supposed to be and then Raincloud uses the information to convince Moss that the fog is ok. Eventually, the whole family plays in the fog.

Birch thought about having to spend his freetime caring for pups instead of relaxing and how whiny they'd be all the time.

''I dont do pups, I just want to be with you and that's it'' says Birch

''Ok'' replies Squirrel

She looked as happy as she had been a few seconds ago, Birch took this as a sign that she wasnt giving up just yet. They found an ibis feather and a toucan feather

Nyla looks for herbs/she gathers 1 dandelion

fortnight b:

its snowing, Ilmenite drops her exploring expedition to go see her pups so that they can play in the snow. Raincloud gathers a pawful of snow and pokes it around to see how it works. Ilmenite joins her and they both speculate about it. Moss dips one paw into the snow and decides that it's too cold for her, she stays in the den with Olivine. Panther leaps into the snow, causing snow to fall on Ilmenite and Raincloud. Then he sprints around in a playful manner, encouraging Ilmenite and Raincloud to join in. Olivine asks Moss if she wants to play in the snow with her siblings. She says no and nuzzles herself deeper into her mother's warm fur.

Ilmenite wakes up, since her mate is squirming around too much.

''I'm trying to sleep- she whispered, so as to not wake up their pups

''I know, I'm just nervous about returning to hunting tomorow, what if I went soft from all this pupsitting?- Olivine whispered back

''You can't go back to hunting yet, you need to take care of the- she quickly covers her mouth to gasp

Has it really been 6 months already?!

''I know, it's crazy, it feels like just days ago they were the size of mice, now they're more like echidnas'' replied the brown wolf

''Still though, it's a good thing. They survived to Watcher age'' she added

''Whatcher what?''

''Don't you remember? I told you once that in my pack, there was a ceremony for pups that reached 6 months of age. At six months, theyd be able to watch pack duties being preformed, to choose what they want to do when they're grown up''

''Olivine, that's perfect! I'll organize a Watcher ceremony for the tomorrow''

''Great...'' mumbled Olivine, already assleep

Month 13 in Skies beyond

Rushing meteorites hunt/Panther decides to watch the hunters, his sister Moss joins him. They say hi to their mother. Olivine is dismayed, her pups will see her make a fool of herself. They couldnt catch anything

Birch scouts/riparian woodland, Raincloud thought all the other jobs looked boring so she secretly followed Birch into the riparian woodland. Hyjinks ensue and this event may convince Birch that pups arent as bad as he thought. He finds peppergrine falcon and a bone.

Birch scouts/taiga. Its hailing so Raincloud pleads to go with him. He accepts and teaches her scouting skills along the way.

On his way back, Birch meets up with Wilbur.

Birch asks Wilbur why he's itching so much, he says that he must have caught fleas from his scouting. Birch tells Raincloud that if she wants to be a scout, this is what she's signing up for. Birch goes into the den to rest, Raincloud goes to the hunting area to see her siblings and Wilbur sees Nyla about his itchyness.

Olivine tells Ilmenite that she feels like she doesnt belong as a hunter anymore. Ilmenite tells her that thats ok cause she can have a different role. Olivine says that it isnt because who's gonna feed the clan. Ilmenite says that its ok because Squirrel and Honeycomb are capable enough and Panther may join soon anyway. Olivine asks if its ok if she stays as being a pupsitter permanently because she realises that thats what she wants to do. Ilmenite says that a pupsitter is just as important as a hunter or a herbalist. End scene.

Rushing meteorites hunt/Panther asks if he and Moss can come with them for the hunt amd also asks for hunting tips. He says that its because Raincloud gets scouting advice from Birch.Squirrel notices this.they caught a beaver

Rushing meteorites hunt again/Honeycomb and Squirrel decide to talk about how to catch prey in the snow. Then they mention how to scent predators...Panther comforts his nervous sister and claims that he'll fight all the predators that cross their path

its snowing, Ilmenite is intrigued. She thinks that winter is her favourite season

Month 14 in Skies Beyond:

Rushing meteorites hunt/they caught another elk and Squirrel accidentally poked herself in the eye with it's horn

Rushing meteorites hunt again/Honeycomb tells everyone that the scent trail he's following seems promising. The sky is kind of dark so Honeycomb tells the Watchers to be careful and keep their sense of smell sharp incase there are predators. Moss walks with caution and her heart beats as fast as a rabbit's. Panther looks at her for a moment and struts confidently in the snow.Honeycomb is so focused on following the scent that he doesnt notice an upcoming ledge, they all fall down except Moss.

Wilbur scouts/the desert. He runs extra fast because he's happy that his fleas are finally gone

Wilbur scouts/the desert, he hopes he wont get fleas again. He finds an ibis and skua feather

its hailing, Ilmenite is intrigued

Olivine has been in her den for half a moon since she proposed to be a pupsitter, during that time she went with Nyla to search for herbs to feel like she was helping.She was hopeful that someone would get pregnant soon, especially Squirrel since she was in heat and had a mate. It came and went though,. One day when she was trying to fall assleep, she heard the scampering of pups around her. This was a sign that she needed to take matters into her own paws. Ilmenite had just come back from exploring, looking to have a rest.

''Hey Ilmenite?''

''Yeah?''

''Our pups aren't really pups anymore so....''

''-I know, it's so wonderful to see them develop as individuals'' interrupted Ilmenite

''Oh, sorry. It just came out'' she added

''Its nice that their becoming individuals but I want more...''

''More?''

''Yes, more pups. Raising the next generation is suppost to be my job''

Ilmenite hadn't really thought of the next generation, it seemed miles and miles away. Then she thought back to when Olivine talked to her about her old clan's nursery only having two pups and how it made the clan sad because they needed more warriors. She realized that the next generation wasnt that far away in the grand scheme of things.

''Well as a leader, it's my job to make sure that there is a next generation. In other words, we can have more pups.

Rushing meteorites hunt again/no, the hunters and scouts relax, re-uniting Moss, Panther and Raincloud. They talk about what they did that day. Olivine and Ilmenite go to the market to look for pups and come across seven being sold for seven silver cones.

''Perfect, now we have enough pups to replace everyone when they pass'' said Ilmenite

Olivine in her pup-hungry daze agreed with Ilmenite that this was in fact a good ammount of pups to buy. The journey home was arduous, the two she-wolves both had to carry a pup each and switch every few minutes. Then they stopped for a break.

''Can I help carry someone?'' asked a small spotted wolf

Ilmenite and Olivine chuckled at his absurd question.

''You could try I suppose'' said Olivine when she saw that he was serious

''No he can't, he's as tiny as a mouse. I'll do it cause im the biggest'' said a grey pup

''Biggest of your litter, I'm one moon older and ten times as big as you'' butted in a pup with cream patches

It all devolved into an argument about who was the strongest.

''Everybody stop and listen to me'' said Olivine

''There's a way to prove it'' she said, all seven pairs of eyes on her.

She had the pups try to lift eachother off the ground, everyone failed to do it, even the most determined of them.

''As you can see, none of you can do it. You all have the same level of strength right now''

''For now, when your all grown up you'll know for sure'' added Ilmenite

''Ilmenite'' Olivine hissed

''What? They should be reminded of the fact that they're individuals. By the way, you were great out there, you'll make a great mother'' she hissed back

The word mother reververated in Olivine's head. Did we seriously just adopt seven pups!?

Month 15 in Skies Beyond:

Eagle stared upon the tantalizingly juicy beaver tail sitting only a few centimetres away from her. The beaver stared back at her with it's cold, dead eyes as if to say ''go ahead''. So she did, she pounced on the opportunity to eat the best part of the beaver. As she tried to disconnect the tail from the rest of the beaver, Tempest jumped in and tried to shove Eagle but she didn't budge. After a few seconds of this, Tempest sunk her teeth into Eagle, she yelped in response but stood her ground, not even pain would stop her from consuming the brown flesh. At this point, Olivine scruffed Tempest and struggled to take her off while Eagle gnawed on the beaver tail, hoping they'd keep going indefinitely. Leaf-crunch noticed the commotion and tried to 'help' by scruffing Eagle but his small frame made it impossible. Eventually Eclipse pulled him away. After Tempest had landed two more bites onto her, Olivine finally peeled her off of Eagle.

There was something so desperate about the pups fighting over a beaver, it brought Olivine back to when she'd see malnourished pups fighting over bird beaks. Of course, she thought of them as normally sized back then... She shook her head to snap out of it and took Eagle to Nyla.

''I can walk myself , you know'' said Eagle

Olivine put her down.

''Why did you really want the beaver? There will allways be enough food for everyone in this pack''

''I didn't want the beaver specifically, I wanted the beaver tail''

Olivine thought back to what her parents, uncles and elders would say: ''This is all we have'' ''That meat is fine, suck it up and eat'' ''You can last till morning, can't you?'' A wave of resentment passed through her.

''You think you're so unlucky, don't you... Oh awooo, awooo, I don't get to have what I want sometimes. Well listen here, I won't tolerate that, you eat what I tell you even if you don't want to!'' she said angrily

''...What?'' asked Eagle backing away from her

Olivine looked at her and knew she did something wrong. She spoke as if she was still in Starlight, as if she had never escaped from that dreary hell-hole, as if she had never experienced having a plentiful ammount of prey. Still, the moment had passed now, she couldn't possibly say sorry now. Both wolves walked in silence the rest of the way.

Rushing meteorites hunt again/they caught a bighorn sheep. Honeycomb gets stabbed in the leg with it's horn, it's so much pain that he faints. Squirrel calls for help and Ilmenite comes and helps carry him to Nyla's den. Moss and Panther carry the bighorn sheep, they feel uneasy about the situation.

Nyla looks for herbs/she makes an open wound salve. She tells everyone to try keep the wound clean.

Olivine asks Eclipse if he could watch her pups for a moment. He agrees and she goes to see Honeycomb.

The scouts return and see that Honeycomb is down. Raincloud may be concerned about it. At this point he wakes up, he seems to be his jolly self so everybody's relieved. Then Nyla rubs salve on his leg and says to let it rest for a few days

Nyla looks for herbs/carrionflower

Wilbur scouts/grasslands. puffin and peregrine falcon

Ilmenite woke up, feeling as if something was off. She could swear she had three pups sleeping around her, not just one. The grey wolf stood up and saw three more pups around her mate. She ran to Eclipse, maybe some of them decided to sleep with him. There were no pups to be seen. To be seen! Maybe Eclipse accidentally rolled over them in his sleep.

-Wake up! Wake up! - she called out

Eclipse grogilly stood up, revealing that no pups were beneath him. At this point she dashed to Olivine and shook her awake.

"Wha..."

"Our pups are gone!"

Olivine shot up from their nest and counted them.

"Four, we haven't lost any, thank goodness"

"No, we had seven pups, Sunshine, Tungsten and Sleet are gone"

The commotion woke Tempest, Dune, Leaf-crunch and Eagle up.

"Eagle, don't you remember your blood siblings?"

"What? I dont have any, there was always just me"

When Ilmenite glanced at the other pups, it seemed like they didnt know what she was talking about. She thought back to a memory.

"Do you remember when Frostbite said she was bigger than you?" she asked Tempest

"Who's that? I only remember Eagle doing that"

"Are you sick, mum?" asked Leaf-crunch

Ilmenite didn't consider that possibility, maybe in her ill stupor, she invented three more pups where there weren't any.

"Do you feel any head pain?"

"No"

"Do you feel dizzy at all?"

"No"

"Did you do anything weird on one of your trips?"

Ilmenite thought long and hard.

"I think I licked a frog one time but that was a while ago"

"Well then you're ok, I cant examine you on anything else" said Nyla

"What do you mean i'm ok?! For months I believed that I had three extra children!" said Ilmenite though she couldnt believe it. There was still some part of her that thought they were in danger.

"I don't specialize in healing minds" said Nyla, making a shooing motion with her paw.

The grey wolf walked in a huff towards the mountains. Her months of climbing experience seemingly vanished completely as she struggled to climb even the smallest boulders. She gave a long, distressed howl to the sky when she heard a snake. Ilmenite instinctively got into a defensive position.

"Ah, so we meet again"

Memories came rushing back from when the snake predicted how many pups she'd have. Ilmenite was so distracted with raising a family that she never questioned it.

"H-how did you know how many pups I would have?"

"It's something else that's the source of that knowldedge"

It seemed like the snake was suggesting some kind of deity or force.This was something her parents warned her of, using gods to explain the unexplainable instead of facts and logic.

"No, you knew because you saw three wriggling in my belly" she said, though she didn't quite remember how closely the snake looked at her stomach.

"I actually came here to talk about the disapearances with you"

Ilmemite found herself getting into an attack position.

"What have you done with my pups" she growled, violently swinging a paw in his direction.

The snake slithered out of the way.

"I don't have anything to do with that, it was something else"

Her heart was full of feelings of protectiveness and rage

"You murdered my children and now your lying about it!" she said, launching herself on to the snake.

"You could kill me" said the snake

This statement interrupted her from almost biting his neck. When he saw that he had her full attention, he continued:

"You could kill me but that would leave you with no answers to speak of. Strange things will keep happening and you'll regret this very moment. I'm your only hope for ever knowing the truth"

Ilmenite dropped the snake, feeling an unplaceable fear.

"Good wolf, would you like me to tell you what controls things?"

"Yes"

"One of them is called RNG"

"Wait, did Arengee kill my pups?!"

The snake flinched from experience.

"RNG didn't kill them. The other one was responsible for that. Though they didn't kill them, they just brought them out of existance. They're not ok, theyre not not ok, theyre just gone. The only one who seems to remember is you"

"Can I ever see them again?"

"It's completely impossible, no matter how hard you try, they'll never be here physically"

Then he slithered off, leaving her with that horrifying truth.

Month 17 in Skies Beyond

Nyla gets feverfew

Birch remarks to Raincloud that she'll be ready to be an adult soon and explore places on her own. Raincloud asks if she can go on a solo journey to get experience.

Birch tells Squirrel that he would like to have pups with her in the end. However, they encounter some problems...

Eclipse leaves since he had funfilled his babysitting duties. Everyone is going to miss him, especially the pups.

Eagle ages up into an adolecent. During the ceremony, Ilmenite feels sad that her  blood siblings arent there with her

Month 18;

Ilmenite and Olivine throw a ceremony for Panther, Raincloud and Moss. When they're going hunting, Squirrel comments that she's glad they're grown up since they can fill in for her

humters couldnt catch anything and panther got a small injury

Raincloud wants to go scouting but she somehow always end up back how she started. An unseen force made it so. She keeps forgetting though for some reason and her mind is filed with false memories. Ilmenite hasn't noticed this strange happening yet

Squirrel gave birth to five pups

Birch asks Squirrel if it's time to name the pups, he's planning to name two of them after his parents. Squirrel replies that in her pack the pups weren't named until apprenticehood. He asks her how to identify the pups and she replies ''It doesn't matter who they are if they can't work yet. Birch excuses himself to go on a patrol.

month 20;

one of the pups escaped from the nest. Olivine caught up to him though and notified the parents.
