Roan turned around, hearing the other wolf come closer. He didn't bother to try and pinpoint his location, instead just smiling in his general direction.
He sniffed the air, trying to find a scent.
"Think that's a doe," he mumbled. "It's pretty close, but it's small."
By 'pretty close', Roan meant 'probably a bit far'. He wasn't sure if other wolves could smell it as well. They relied on their eyes way too much.

"What's your plan, then, outsider?" he snarked as he padded over.  "Ask it to stand still while you bite at it?" He wasn't sure what this stranger's hunting technique was, but it couldn't be much different than how other wolves did it. If it was, hunting an ungulate while you couldn't see it seemed like a surefire way to get kicked.

Roan
He laughed, amused. "I like your humor, pack wolf," he said with a grin. He began to pad towards the scent, his ears up. He could hear the sound of rushing water nearby.
Finally arriving in some bushes near the doe, he listened to its footsteps.
"It's pretty small," he grumbled, before rushing out of his hiding place with a snarl. The doe panicked and ran, and Roan began to chase after it, his ears more alert than ever. Following exactly where it went, Roan managed to get through the thick forest with minimal bumps and scrapes, finally cornering the doe against a wall and sinking his teeth into its neck.
"Pack wolf!" He called with a grin. "I got it!"

Sunny

She thanked Lantern and drank the tea. She felt bad for making the herbalist go back to work. She sighed and then went to take her portion of the elk bull.

Tempest

They watched as Sunny drank the tea and then went to eat. Then she smiled kindly over at Lantern before walking to a spot and laying down. They looked around the camp wondering what all she wanted to do.

Lantern
The herbalist hadn't even noticed the light pouring in through the cracks in her den. She'd been busy all night, preparing medicine for ear mites, rashes, poxes, anything that might ail the pack. She sighed, scratching herself and looking up. Rubbing the bags under her eyes, she stretched, happy to be finally finished.
For now, she thought, then immediately: oh, shut up, brain. Let me rest.

Lark
Making his way through the route the stranger had gone, he sniffed the ground for a moment before trotting along, following the other wolf's scent. He padded along for a while, weaving his way through the trees at a cautious pace. At least if he got ambushed he could try to use the trees and foilage to throw off his pursuers. It probably wouldn't work, but it was better than not planning at all. He eventually came across the stranger and a doe carcass, which seemed to have been freshly killed. He stared for a moment before getting a little closer, sniffing tentatively. Yup. The deer had just died, so that meant...
"...How did you-" He looked at the wall which the doe had been cornered against. "...Color me surprised, outsider."

Roan
Smiling proudly, Roan explained, "if I follow the doe's trail, I'm less likely to bump into things, and I'll tire it out or corner it eventually." He shrugged. "That's what I do for big prey. Smaller prey is harder."
He nudged the carcass towards the stranger.
"I kinda just wanted to show off," he said with a laugh. "You can have it if you want."

Tempest

She must have fallen asleep because the next thing the knew, it was morning. She noticed that Lantern was awake and went over to her. "Hey, how are you this morning?" They asked and then noticed the bags under her eyes. "Did you pull an all-nighter?" She asked concerned.

Sunny

She was sleeping in a quiet corner of the hunter's den.

Lantern
Lantern shrugged, somewhat avoiding the question.
"Maybe," she mumbled. "I got a lot done, though. And I had to make sure Sunny recovered alright, and I had to periodically change the bandage on her head. She got scraped up a bit."

He stared at the carcass for a moment. "Are you not hungry?" He asked, confused. Sure, while he would like to have his own pack get its paws on a free kill, it seemed, well, odd for the other wolf to go through all of this effort only to give it up without a fight.
