She has the sort of furry paws that send her sliding across the top of the metal and plastic bins in the barn. While she is mostly clean, Sunrise can also be found with hay in her fur and a few mats on her tummy. Ability: None. Past: A big, lazy barn cat: Very mellow and relaxed, she's lived an easy life but craves a life where she's isn't closed up with larger animals at night. Desired clan role: Warrior / Medicine cat Other: Friends with Finch. ((Apologies that this is a bit of a work in progress)) |

— "It was an accident," she said. Sunrise had just crawled out of the open chicken coop door to greet Finch. Her muzzle was red with blood, her golden eyes lacked their usual light. She was obviously braving the pain in her muzzle with as much grace as she could muster. When she licked the sides of her mouth, Finch could see that she was missing teeth. "What happened to you?" Finch said, sniffing her gently. She had always smelled like the two leg barn, the scents of hay and livestock and chickens clinging to her long fur. Her own blood soured her usual warmth. "I don't think they knew what they were doing. I got kicked by one of the horses last night. I didn't mean to startle them." She shifted her paws. "My mother always did warn me not to walk behind them. The two legs have been trying to catch me all morning with a scary looking box." "You're welcome to tag along with me for a bit, or course. Who knows what they'll do to you." Finch paused, in thought. "I've been having the dreams again. About the clearing in the woods. You're welcome to come with me." Sunrise tilted her head at him. "Oh, Finch. I know you don't like them very much. They do feed me. I can't imagine a different life than this. Besides… I'm not sure I'm built for living in the wild." "It's… calling to me. I can't explain it. I'd like to see it soon." Finch watched Sunrise's face fall. "B-but in the meantime, how about you come with me?" The black cat put his strange dreams beside him for a moment, coming forward and helping his friend clean herself up. Then, looking much better, the two heading farther north to see what food they could find by the two-leg houses. |

She crawled out of her nest between the roots of a tree. That dream... She thought for a moment. I've had that dream before. That clearing... She decided that she would go to that clearing later that day. She huffed to herself. They maybe that dream would stop bothering her. She yawned and stretched her limbs, which ached from the old bedding that had pretty much flattened into dust. I'll have to get some more bedding, later. Her belly rumbled reminding her that she should hunt. She looked around and then ran off into the forest to go to her favorite hunting spot. She soon slowed to a halt and sniffed the air. She could smell a squirrel nearby. She got into her hunting crouch and soon enough, she'd caught herself a squirrel. She thought back to her days in ShadeClan, when she would have had to take this back to the clan so the queens and elders could eat. She sighed and ripped a mouthful of the squirrel, chewing it slowly to savor the taste. She finished the squirrel in a few more bites and then buried the bones under a bush. She spotted some soft-looking moss on a nearby fallen tree trunk. She gathered the moss and went back to her own nest which was in sight of the twoleg place. |

Finch & Sunrise "Would you be willing to just… walk with me in the woods? To look?" Finch asked his friend. He caught mice for both of them, and they lingered under the shadows of an unmanaged garden of a quiet twoleg home. Sunrise looked at him with narrowed eyes. Her ears lay pressed against her head, her mouth was a flat line and accentuated her newly acquired scars. "Finch… I am still injured." She took a grumpy bite of her meal. "What if we fall in thorns, or get stuck in a tree, or eaten by a bear?" "I don't think bears live so close to the twoleg place," Finch argued, "And neither of us is dumb enough to have any of those problems." "What about the feral cats that live in there? Aren't they kind of scary?" "I'm a feral cat, technically. I'm not scary." Sunrise stood up and shook out her fur, rustling the foliage above her. "You are, a little bit. Ok. I know this is important to you. However! If I take one step I don't like, I must be able to walk back to my barn. Are we clear?" "And risk your twolegs trying to catch you again?" Finch purred playfully and rubbed against her. "Of course, Sunrise. Thank you. I just have to know if it's real." He pointed his tail towards the tree line, indicating their direction. His paws moved confidently across well cut grass to the barrier of trees. |

Tempest Movement in the corner of her eye made her turn to see two cats walking towards the forest. She closes her eyes to focas, and when she opens them she can see the two cats clearly. One was a beautiful, fluffy dilute calico she-cat. The other was a sleek and tall black tom with white toes. She narrowes her eyes and decides to follow them. She leaves her nest, which is still unfinished and heads into the trees after them. She hangs back once she catches up to them, not quite wanting to join them. She makes sure to watch her steps and keep her ears open for trouble. |

[Finch & Sunrise] The two headed deeper into the forest so that only a shard of the twoleg homes could be seen through the trees. Finch was in his element. He sniffed everything, easily sliding between shadows and under brush. Everything was earthy and smelled of prey. He loved it. Sunrise was having a different experience. Her paws slipped on leaves and exposed roots, and she did not have the knowledge to hide her trail so easy. A slug slid between her falling toes and she wailed mournfully. "Finch-!" She cried, throwing her head back, "Why is everything wet?" The underbrush barely shifted as she made his way back her her, chuckling. He took up her side and looked at her playfully. "You have to watch where you're going!! Then you'll stop being so surprised by it." "Ugh! I was made to lie in the warm sun and be fed treats." Sunrise whined, again, joking but also not. Her tail fluffed in unease and she sat, twitching it around and taking a moment to clean off her paws. "I'm not sure I want to take such a big hike. I feel like we're being watched." Finch looked around absently. He didn't see anything, and honestly didn't even believe there was anything to worry about with such a proximity to humans. "Thank you for coming out with me anyway. I promise, not much further." Still he sat with his friend until she was more comfortable, and they walked slowly on together. |
