I'm open to PMs as well. I want to be a semi-successful player in Wolvden but I don't know where to begin. Colors and mutations aren't exactly important to me, but I would like to have strong wolves and a successful and growing pack. |

1. The base tiers generally refer to the rarity of the base color or how hard it is to obtain. Tier I is the most common, with most new wolves having that type of base. Tier II is slightly rarer. Some Tier II bases can be applied with the Base Changer item in the Grove shop, some can appear on "special" wolves in explore (which will have a star in the top left corner when you try to claim them), and some can only be found through breeding, if at least one of the parents is Tier II or higher. There isn't really any sort of end goal to the game, and there's lots of ways to play! Some people focus on getting as efficient as possible, with high stat wolves and things like that. Others might write lore for their packs or wolves and use the game to channel some creativity. Lots of people have the goal of earning money in the game, whether through breeding and selling good wolves or other methods. 2. Wolves don't actually have a size listed. The "runt" and "largest pup" labels are sometimes randomly assigned to a pup born in a large litter (I believe it has to have at least 4 or 5 wolves for this to occur). The runt starts with a slightly lower survival chance and lower stats, and I believe the largest pup gets higher stats and possibly a higher survival chance. 3. Fish with a higher rarity (which should be displayed with their name) sell for more, and if a fish is in the top 50% of that species' weight range (which there's a few player-made guides for I think), it can give you a food item. If you already have plenty of food, you can sell those at Raccoon Wares to earn more. 4. Up to you! Most illnesses don't come up all that frequently in the game, so the only medicines I have to craft regularly are Diarrhea Cures, Healing Salves, and the Open Wound one, so I like to keep herbs for those stocked up and sell or trade others. Food and amusement items I tend to hold on to just in case I ever need more than expected, but I often sell small carcasses at Raccoon Wares since they give more silver cones per use, and if food in your hoard is getting within a couple days of expiring you can always sell it then. There's not a ton of set lore in Wolvden, and probably most of what you'll see around site is player made. Some people try to stay within the general vibe of Wolvden, and others get super creative and incorporate lots of fantasy or sci-fi elements. If you want to try to stay within the realm of possibility of Wolvden I'd recommend using explore encounters as inspiration, as well as learning about the events. A lot of people don't include all of the events in their lore, especially since most of them only happen once a year, but the lunar event happens every month so that definitely feels like a key feature of Wolvden. There's a ton of player-created guides out there with great resources, which I relied on a lot when I was starting out. The Grouse House Guides are a great collection to start with! |

Reading the Grouse House guides is a great way to get started. I read everything they wrote in the first week after public launch and I think I have done well mostly because I did that. Following your "unique quests" (tutorials) with Tala is so helpful, I can't overstate it. That black she-wolf is like an angel to me. |
