How often do your wolves get sick?

Everyone send all your potential bad luck to me, I'm resigned to my fate of being an illness sponge.

Got that many more again, @Fao? Message me if you need anything. I'll help another plague magnet if I can.

Yeah, all of my hunters that didn't get hurt/sick yesterday got it today. I'm honestly thinking of going ahead and shelving this game for a year or so, until they add in more content that makes it worth playing despite the constant deluge of illnesses. Having everyone sick in the real world is enough for this year. I don't need to have it in a game too. It would be one thing if it wasn't constant, but it's basically the only function running right now, so it kind of overwhelms everything else. I don't know how people can have big packs. I'm going to give it a few more weeks, but right now, it's just too much hassle and not enough fun.

i get at least 1 open wound whenever my hunters catch a medium/large prey or a porcupine unless they have immunity bc they've been cured from their last open wound. I've had a couple of cases of ear mites/ticks, one of a NBW having influenza, and my lead gets diarrhoea almost daily but nothing overwhelming and whenever my herbalist is able & I have the herbs I craft random cures, prioritising cures for the most lethal/deleterious and most common illnesses. I have my quarantine cave ready though, just in case ^^

Ugh, my wolves are injured or sick CONSTANTLY! I am running out of medicine. I get 2-3 open wounds a day and usually some parasite nonsense. Just bad luck, I guess? But really frustrating. I keep my hunters in high hp and try not to roll in poop but still end up hanging out with my herbalist.

For a few days there, I also was having a terrible time finding herbs. Still a fun game but wish my luck wasn't so bad.

My herbalist is getting older. I am not looking forward to training a rookie with all these problems my pack is having on a daily basis. Can't even stockpile because they're always injured or sick.

Yeah my herbalist is five, already planning her replacement. Haven’t had trouble keeping up with illnesses yet though, knock on wood.

I get Open Wound pretty much daily, but I very rarely get anything else. So I would say just don't be too afraid of the illnesses, not even the fatal ones. It is easy to scramble enough herbs now that your herbalist can forage for them. And you just use the herbalist exchange to get rarer herbs like pineapple leaves.

3 for 1 isn't really bad exchange if you just exchange very common herbs you have a lot of.

Originally in beta, we didn't have forage or exchange so... getting dem pineapple leaves was... hard.

I super regret unlocking herbalist. My wolves are just getting sick constantly. Adds absolutely nothing to the game to me besides being a money pit :c

@Sandwich

You would've lost new account immunity anyway after your 4th rollover,  not doing the herbalist quest won't protect you from that. And well, you're correct that sicknesses are just a money pit, but some "money sinks" are kind of necessary evils on petsites. But worry not, once your herbalist gets higher proficiency - diagnosing becomes cheaper and eventually free.

So far I've only gotten two diseases I believe, both of them were open wounds on my hunters.

My main wolf got Ear Mites yesterday. Otherwise it's been pretty good. I've been trying to stock up on all the medicines.
