"Whatever." He rolled his eyes, then grumbled quietly so Monsoon hopefully wouldn't hear. "The dumb girls are gone, I'll just go pick on someone else less fun to tease." He turned to Monsoon, and played the victim. "Thanks for trying to settle it peacefully. Clover is such a bully." Cairo He waited patiently at the oasis. He smiled, content. The smiling got him weird looks from many of the more criminal characters around, but he didn't care. He was glad to be in the Scorpion Den, for once. He took a drink of water straight from the oasis, letting the water refresh him. Not a single person he recognized in sight! Better yet, nobody that recognizes me. He thought with a sly smile. Even if they did, they'd only know me as Gila. |

Cairo He looked around the sketchy environment, making sure to observe the dragons but avoiding eye contact. The Scorpion Den wasn't the most hospitable place, he knew. It was certainly a change he had gotten used to though. Moving through the crowds towards a particular alley, he nodded to a large and imposing SandWing standing guard. "Oi, Coyote. It's Gila. I bring news for him." He spoke in a harsh whisper. "Alright, make it quick." The guard, Coyote, replied in a gravelly voice and moved aside. "Boss don't like to be kept waitin'." "Don't worry." He replied with a sly grin, making his way down the sandstone corridor. It'll be quick. Clover can't know I'm gone. He thought bitterly. |

Slinking past some more shady characters, Cairo made his way to the end of the hall. Sitting at the desk was the SandWing everyone in the gang called Boss. Nobody knew his real name; not even Cairo. Then again, nobody every really gave their real name. You always gave a fake one. Everyone knew him as Gila, and he knew everyone else by whatever alias they went by. Boss always made Cairo nervous. The large SandWing's sail had various tears and his body was covered in burned marks, wherever there wasn't any tattoos. Half of his snout had been torn off, giving Boss a sort of permanent snarl on his face. Boss turned towards Cairo, narrowing his eyes. "Gila." He said simply, a cue for Cairo to give his report. "Boss." He replied, giving a respectful nod of his head before continuing. "I was unable to get to the SkyWing feast in time--" He paused, seeing Boss's face fall dangerously. "However." He quickly continued. "I met a RainWing by the name of Clover who possesses animus powers." An evil grin spread across Boss's face. "Very well." He nodded to a pouch on the desk. "You've done good, Gila. Take the rest of the day off until I give you further assignments. The treasure is on the table." Snatching the bag quickly, Cairo nodded to Coyote and made his way back to the oasis. He spotted Storm coming in and plastered on a friendly smile. "Hey, how are you doing?" He chimed sweetly. |

He forced himself to laugh along with her, although in reality he wanted nothing more than to retort some sort of snarky remark. "Good one!" He replied. Scanning the area, he found himself perplexed. "Hey, didn't Clover say she was going to come with you?" |

"Eh, that's fine." He shrugged, then found himself smiling as he thought of an amusing idea. "Hey, want to go get something to eat, since she might be a bit?" He suggested. I'll pick the least friendly establishment I know if she says yes. He thought, stifling laughter as he pictured the scene in his head. Not too hard to find considering we're in the Scorpion Den. |
