In my opinion, the devs are doing a fantastic job. This is the ONLY big sale they do - it only happens for 3 days out of 365 each year, thereby preserving the value of GC. Everyone will be able to get their hands on a piebald eventually with a little patience and some event grinding. I'm happy to support the devs financially to the extent that I'm able to, because they deserve it.

They are a business at the end of the day and they do need funds to keep the site up and running. Think about the incredible amount of work they do!

Edit: Oof, if the odds are are bad as Silvy#15737 says, that definitely presents a problem.

Hello hello! I usually don't post on Wolvden at... all, tbh lol. But I wouldn't be me if I didn't want to add in my 2 cents lmao— ofc, as per standard, this is directed @ no one and is simply how I feel. Also very LORGE post incoming. So TLDR, I get it, Love the piebalds, good job, poor execution, not a fan of the paywall. This was barely proofread, so expect mistakes lmao.

I'd like to start out by saying that I purchased the MoD. I love the piebalds, and I wanted one.
I've also been trying to breed for them by breeding with piebald males. And ofc, while it's all rng, I've had probably about... 40-ish to 60 pups born now in the span of two days (Yes, I absolutely did spend an abysmal amount on instant pup feathers & sages to get the most out of it, don't ask lmao) and not a single was a piebald. I figure the rates are probably the same as the amount of getting any other carrier status/mutie from breeding a non-carrier/mutie to a mutie. But CHRIST, in the span of 60 puppies, not a single piebald. Once again, I know it's RNG. But, for the average player, who may not even have access to either breed with some of the piebald studs due to having low funds or having to wait the full 4 (fiiivveeee? You'd think Ik by now lmao) days for pups to be born, that's a lot. And then an additional cooldown to re-breed your wolves because you're looking at your non-piebald potato pups that you kick out your pack the moment you meet their common-colored eyes LOL. Yes, I am a little salty.

It's just a long waiting game. Which I get. There is no way to win Wolvden. It's always been a waiting game. But, I don't see how you could say it's not slightly predatory with this sale & not a FOMO. Just like RNG says that you could get it relatively easy, you could also NEVER get it too. Or get it years down the line, finally. To me, that's not fair, honestly. Because I don't want to shell over $50, which someone could very likely not have because $50 isn't cheap??, a new feature of the game (it should just be cosmetic if they did it in this manner IMO), is locked off from me unless RNG decides to stop kicking me in the ribs and/or I get lucky on TC? Yes, to me, that's not fair.
And you can also never get a NBW piebald without the apps (unless they change something). Which, even if a 'small' thing, you ARE still missing out on something from not buying it. You are cutting off an entire group of people from getting something behind a paywall. There is no Ifs', ands, and buts about that aspect. And yes, they could simply buy the app from TC and apply it on their own NBW... that's missing the point a bit and still falls on the big side of 'maybe'.

And for people who say making money is easy on Wolvden, I've only just now finally started having a 'savable' income within the past maybe three-ish months, of SC to spend on more expensive studs or SC/GC to use in the trading center. It is NOT easy to build it. Easy to keep it, maybe, once you have a steady inflow and whatnot going on. But, the initial climb up that rocky 'hill' to get here was not easy. And I still can't afford to buyout a MoD app off TC. And the only option would be to (rightfully, as this is worth $50) offer half of your stock of bases, markings, and CD in hopes that you'll be chosen lol.

In regards to simply buying/using lunar event goods... I suppose? When I had a lot more free time on my hands (no job rip), it was easy enough to get 500 LT. When I got a job though? Not really. For some reasons, my freetime alligned most often with it being daytime lol. Or, just being too exhausted to deal with the bs of 'fight fight fight' to get lunar tears. This is not to 'come' for people with time on their hands to do it or manage to squeeze it into their busy life. Good for you! I'm just saying how it was for me. :)
Additionally, base apps and markings don't sell for the 500+ GC that people are asking for MoD apps. Considering you need to pay $50 to get it and they won't ever appear aside from Black Friday or raffles with the devs (may be wrong on this), no, I don't think they'll ever be available for cheaper. I don't know if it's fair of me to say that the number of apps available will start to decrease, since I'm sure some people bought quite a few to stock up/dish out in the later months... But, there is a 'limited' amount available if they're ONLY going to appear for Black Friday. Once this sale is done, it's done until next year or a raffle pops up. Those are the only ones in the game. You think they won't sell for a fortune in February 2023? I think they will lol.

And for those who say they did the same on Lioden... Yeah, and? Does that mean we can't be upset about it or want something different? I mean, sure, we should EXPECT it, yes. Still doesn't invalidate the feelings, IMO.

Lastly, it... is gambling? I mean, this is less at the Piebald part and more the other items. I paid for the highest tier, got none of the apps I like (clover gANG lmfao rip my life), and only 1 decor piece that I actually wanted lol. Trading the items is NOT a one-to-one. It's not a simple, 'I give you this background for this one'! More often than not, you're gonna need to spend extra GC or include extra items for someone to accept your offer (ESPECIALLY if its the new decor, which obviously everyone wants). Why you can't just choose maybe at least ONE of the decor items and have the rest be randomly chosen is beyond me, because at least you're guaranteed to like one thing lol.

There's more I could blab on about, but I think ya'll get the point lol. I apologize if it seems like I'm targeting with my wording; I'm not. I'm a goofy debater that asks a lot of rhetorical questions, they're not directed at anyone. Not looking to argue, I'm likely not going to budge on my point as a whole if I'm going to be honest w/ you LOL so it would absolutely turn into an endless circle of trying to convince one another. In my personal opinion i think the Black friday event is executed perfectly
It allows players to support the game and get something nice in return. Those players will get the mutations before the free to play players sure but i don't see an issue with that considering how they'll become easier to get later on. You can get a piebald wolf without spending real life money, the only thing that could be difficult is to get a G1 piebald wolf which.. i personally see more as a privilege not a necessity. Yes it sucks if you really really want that but can't spend real money but we can't expect everything to be 100% fair all the time it's simply not realistic.
This is just my personal opinion <3

theres a lot of fighting on this post. i just came to comment that theres a couple of pages in the current event that arent formatted correctly (i.e:)

it doesnt say my obtained items and some of the coding is busted. and this is present in a few pages of the storyline

but also looking at some of the critiques i def wonder about the gambling aspect of the black friday sale. that said i dont think the sale is bad. the devs gotta make money yall
