You dismissed your thoughts. Perhaps it was a strayed fox. They were quite similar in shape with wolves. Continuing your walk, you made your way past the surprisingly empty forest. It was completely devoid of life. Usually, there'd be a few squirrels or a raven amongst the trees, but there was none. There weren't chirps from birds or rustles of rabbits. It was quiet, except for the occasional crunch of foliage beneath your paws. A wave of an unknown stench clogged your nose as your proceeded forward. It smelled foul, rotten, but had a small dose of sweetness. Utterly disgusting. Yet, you walked further. Whatever that smell was, you were determined to find its source. Your paw suddenly hooked onto something, tripping you. Thump! Your jaw hit the dirt ground, so did the rest of your body. Grunting, you pushed yourself off the ground with your front paws. You scan the ground for whatever had tripped you. It was a tiny pebble. A mighty beast of the forests was brought down to its knees by a rock. Truly pathetic. You stormed off, pride crushed. ...Where were you exactly? You frantically looked around, the trees were all the same. Where had you come from? The thoughts came back running into your head. Where was the path? Where was the pack? The familiar stench hits you in the nose again. An idea appeared in your mind. You'd follow the stench. It might not lead to the pack but it was a clue. You pointed your head upwards, sniffing the surrounding area for its trace. You found it. Dashing through the woods, you followed the trail intensively. This was it. Your key to freedom. Your way to- The trail did not lead to any recognizable spots. Instead, it led you to a stone den draped with vines. Does some wolf live there? The chances were small but not zero. You trekked towards the den and entered it. Someone certainly lived here. There was a neatly made leaf bed on the floor. By its side was a large plate of stone. You searched around, looking for any signs of life. No luck. You sighed, planting yourself on the leaves. Rolling to your left side, you saw a small stone box. You slid away the lid. There was a stone slate with text on it. Engraved on the top was a drawing of three eyes. You couldn't help but feel anxious as though someone was watching you from behind as you read through the stone. There were many words and drawings you couldn't understand. Was it written in a foreign language? It was useless mindlessly flipping through the pages. "Having fun?" Your fur stood up. You slowly turn your head, meeting your gaze with a pair of blue eyes. It was Moonshone Pack's alpha. She hummed, grinning. "Did you get lost?" She then cooed at you. You nodded quickly. The alpha's grin widened. It made her appear unhinged. "Well, I suppose I'll show you the way. Follow me, you little troublemaker." The two of you stepped out of the strange den. You forced your eyes to close as they were blinded by a sudden flash of bright light. You squinted your eyes open. You were back at the pack. "If you ever need my help, learn how to yearn for my arrival." The alpha spatted. And with a blink of an eye, she was once again gone. |
