Ollie's brows furrow into a worried look. "Were you looking for a new place to live?"
You nod at him solemnly.
"The leads came back late last night. We'll go talk to Cross, and then go see Cicada if it goes well." He turns to Narny, still laughing on the ground. "Narny, I'm going to borrow your friend!" Narny rolls onto her stomach, breathing heavily and trying to recover from the laughter. Ollie turns back to you. "Let's get moving." He leads you to the Alphas den, where two wolves are sitting together. One is a large black male, and the other is a smaller orange female. The female notices you in the entrance and stands to come greet you and Ollie. "Ollie! What brings you here this morning!" She barely acknowledges you, and it's clear it's not uncommon for there to be strange wolves around. "Hello Cross! This is [Your Name]. They've asked to join our pack." Cross eyes you up and down. "Well alright, you know I don't mind, but make sure you check with Cicada first. She'll know better than me what to do with this one." You're surprised at the leads trust in wolves other than herself. Her gentle leadership style is very attractive for a new pack. Ollie nods at her, and smiles at you. "Cicada is in charge of job assignment, she'll see If there's room for someone of your skill type in our pack!"
You can't help but wag your tail a little, this pack has already shown you so much love.
You walk with Ollie to a small council of wolves sending out hunting parties to different parts of the forest. They all stop and look at you as you approach. A particularly dark wolf seems to know why you're here, and leaves the group to meet you halfway. "Ollie! I was hoping I'd hear from you! I've heard much about the newcomer. It's seems they're very popular with our pack already." Ollie and Cicada sniff each other and smile. "So newcomer," she turns back to you. "What job would you like to do here?"
The dark wolf frowns. "I'm not sure we'll have a place for a herbalist for a few generations. The current herbalists have already chosen their apprentices. I'm very sorry." Ollie looks at you sadly. "Maybe you can still stick around for a little while anyway?" He asks. "Oh goodie!" Cicada smiles at you. "The omegas have taken such a liking to you anyhow, and we can never have enough guards! We'll have you assigned to a den by sunset tonight.""Well that's a complicated one, at the moment we're only looking for spare chasers!" If speed is your highest or second highest stat, you've been allowed into the pack!"We don't currently have any openings for scouts, but maybe we can stick you with omegas for now. The scouts don't have apprentices of their own, we can put you on the job if one of them gets sick!" Cicada nods to herself. "I'll have to find a den for you in the meantime, stay with Narny until I tell you otherwise." The dark wolf turns and heads back to her group, and Ollie smiles at you. "oh thank god!" Cicada rolls her eyes. "We can NEVER have enough. Children never stop coming. You'll be rooming with Ollie, welcome to the pack!" Ollie's tail wags excitedly, and he eagerly invites you to see the den. You agree and head off with your new roomie.
