Character Template

Name: Jessica "Jess" Asheby

Gender: Female

Age (over 16): 23

Sexuality: Straight

Type of Shifter: Red Squirrel

Human appearance: Jessica is average sized, with clothes that are always at least a little stained or ripped. She usually wears short boots and a toolbelt or jacket around her waist, and her red hair is normally kept in a messy bun. She has deep brown eyes and wild freckles on her face and arms.

Shifted appearance:  A bright red squirrel with white undersides and tufts of fur on the ears. The normal person may not bat an eye seeing her, but to the more knowledgeable folk red squirrels like her are not native to the area.

Personality:  Jessica is punctual, hard working, and persistent, but also stubborn, competitive, and curious to a fault. She is very effective at her job as an enturprenur mechanic and freelance inventor, but finds it to be her responsibility to keep an ear out to keep potential rivals at bay. She can be quite protective of her home, especially areas that are not part of the business. (They can have traces of her being a shifter)

Backstory (optional): Jessica was born in the home she still lives in, as an only child. She had a rather normal childhood, being very close to her parents, but things changed when she was found to be a shifter. She spent more and more time at home for the safety of her identity, and her parents were kind enough to keep their daughter's identity a secret. They helped her make the squirrel-friendly parts of the house in case she could not turn back. After her mother's disappearance and father's death, her home is her last memory of them, and she will do anything to protect it.

Affiliations (friends, family, etc): Father- Charles Asheby (Died of illness)

Mother- Evangelene Asheby (Alive but missing and presumed dead)

Other: She still lives in the Asheby family home, the basement converted into a private workshop, and the garage reserved for her dad's green truck and the business. She is very lucky to be a shifter who is accepted as a normal human in society. Her mother went missing because she was found to be a shifter (although she had sworn to never shift after having a daughter an accident happened) and subsequently went missing. Shifting is a comfort thing for Jessica, and has a small chance of shifting unexpectedly under great stress.

Name: 'Amarok' Hemming

Gender: Male

Age (over 16): 30

Sexuality: Panromantic, heterosexual

Type of Shifter: Amarok(unusually large wolf - Inuit legend)

Human appearance: Standing at a not-so-subtle six-foot-three-inches tall with tousled black hair that falls just below his shoulders. His golden tan skin is richly darkened in the tell-tale areas of a 'farmer's tanline'. Soft, tired green eyes sit on gracefully defined features that give him a distinctly tired, sorrowful, yet naturally soft face with a well defined jawline. He works to blend in with a crowd despite his height through the use of overly-casual attire, typically a hooded jacket, loose shirt, and heavy dennim jeans with generic sneakers.

Shifted appearance: True to the legends; this black wolf, peppered with silvery grey, stands at an impressive 3.5ft at the shoulder, and measures 8ft in total length- echoing the beasts of old. Retaining those now striking green eyes are about the only other differentiation(beyond size) between him and a common black wolf. Notably; both forms have a natural warm, woody scent

Personality: Quiet, somewhat reserved, he prefers to observe at a distance when he can, but will protect those who call out to him. That being said, he isn't likely to jump into a fight he is in the dark on(won't jump to defend someone who may be in the wrong). He prefers to think things through rather than act on impulse, and considers every possibility he can. When possible, he prefers to avoid conflict. Due to his size; he refuses to shift unless the situation is dire, or he is well out of any human range.

Backstory (optional): Amarok was a name earned, and not his from birth. 'Born in captivity' is likely the best means to describe his upbringing. His parrents were, after all, simply carriers of the shifter trait, and not active shifters like himself. He was born 'Daniel Hemming Jr' and lived as a human for the first two years of life-- until he started shifting with his newfound bursts of emotion and excitement in learning the world. His mother, terrified of the monster she'd carried and unable to accept the shifts which would last hours... days... months even, left him without a word. His father came home to find him playing in the yard alone, gate left open, with a rope keeping him tied like a dog to the tree so he could not leave with her. Rather than abandon him in kind, his father did something worse. He sold the pup to a zoo, where he would age in secrecy as one of the wolves in captivity, longing for an escape. It was in this time he learned to control his shifts, keeping his fur by day, and flesh by night-- eventually learning the keeper's patterns, and escaping(though not without causing a bit of havoc freeing animals and giving himself a diversion). Now he wanders the streets doing odd jobs and day labor to feed himself, living out in the woods in an abandoned hunters' shack.

Affiliations (friends, family, etc): Mother - Ellizabeth Hemming - estranged

Father - Daniel Hemming - Unknown

Other: He will hit you or throw something if you 'awoo' at him, doesn't matter if you're a fellow wolf. He has the patience of a saint and will tollerate a lot of things, but will remind you what he is if it goes too far.

Gender: Male

Age (over 16): 16 and a bit (unsure of his real birthday)

Sexuality: Homosexual

Type of Shifter: Cat

Human appearance: Dante hasn't been human for a while. Last he was human, it was a short, messy dark brown and black haired boy. He has dark brown eyes and a bit of a boyish face. He seems innocent but since the experiments, he's matured greatly. He has very nimble fingers and is quite thin. I might do more if he eventually changes to human.

Personality: 

Backstory (optional): Dante and his family were found to be shifters when he was eight, and they were taken away. He went through small experiments until he was twelve when the biggest ones happened. At 14, he was unable to change back to human. A year later he managed to escape after an apex shifter cause a distraction and most escaped. Dante never found his family and as he went from house to house as a stray cat, he learned the way of the streets quickly and harshly. When Saiya found him, he had been thrown from a window and was barely alive. She adopted him, and would do anything for the cat shifter.

Other: He hates fish. Absolutely hates it. 

But he loves boxes and small spaces... and fluffy stuff.
