    The world around me is gorgeous, yet boring. The same sparkling dew on the fresh green rainforest leaves are stunning at a glance, but ordinary to me who's lived my entire life in complete rain, humid air, and treecover. Sure, this place was better than the swamp where I was born, but one wish I have is to see the open sky and smell  the fresh, warm prairie air. Maybe one day..but for now I have duties to fulfil to my pack.

    My mother, Tarla, is a scout, which obviously puts me in her shadow. Sure, I'm always up for competition, but there's no denying that my mother is one of the most valued members. She and her partner, Tiva, are the only two wolves skilled enough to venture to faraway places and return without harm.

    I know that if I were just allowed I could easily get better than her and her partner, but Nooo, Etenia, you have to help Aiya- "Agh, Etie, you're scattering the guaicaum petals everywhere...." Aiyana grumbles at me, interrupting my train of thought.

    "No I'm not," I protest, despite the obvious purple petals littering the ground. The serene - looking herbalist gives me a look that says, Oh really? and goes to pick up the fallen pieces.

    "Sorry, I'll use those first...," I apologize, starting to feel bad for the partially wasted flowers.

    "I suppose that would be fine," Aiyana says, picking up her head to nuzzle me reassuringly. "Now, I know all you want to do it go off venturing places to go gallivanting about flirting with wolves and prancing into open skies, but you have to remember to keep up with the present as well."
