USE THE OOC FOR COMMENTING.Hundreds of years have passed since the events surrounding the mysterious hero who had supposedly been a human. Trouble has come and gone, and pokemon lived in periods of peace with only mild disturbances coming their way. Inspired by the hero of old, a guild has been erected where the hero's base once stood. The guild is led by guildmaster Ninetales, a descendant of Ninetales of the past. Since the tales of yore, no human has set foot on townsquare. In fact, humans have become nothing more than a tall tale of the past. But that's not to say that more trouble couldn't possibly be resting on the horizon. For years, the guild has trained rescue teams to deal with minor issues, such as retrieving frightened Caterpie or recovering items locals had lost in dungeons. However, it would seem that pokemon in the outskirts have reverted to thievish and feral tendencies once again, for reasons that not even Ninetales seems to know (or at least, for reasons she shall not disclose...). The locals can feel it, the certain strangeness that lingers in the air. You can feel it, too. It would seem that the peace that has blanketed the region for countless generations has come to cease. The guild seeks brave new volunteers to train as new rescue teams in order to seek out answers to this disturbance. Setting:Tales of Nine takes place in the same location as Pokemon: Red Rescue Team as well as its recent re-release. Most locals are found within Town Square, while the new Guild has been built in the place of the hero's old base. However, since time has passed, new small towns have sprouted in the light of peace. The main town where the Guild resides has been named "Heart Town". Other small towns located nearby are known as "Tiny Town", "Sinister Town", "Thunderwave Town", and "Murky Town". Pokemon are welcome to have been born in these outside towns, but the roleplay will focus primarily on life in Heart Town, in addition to occasional dungeon adventures. Heart Town is where merchants prefer to gather. It is easily the largest and most diverse town. Tiny Town was built in the heart of Tiny Woods, an old dungeon. Pokemon from here often specialize in berry farming and herbology! Bug types are quite common, but pokemon from all walks of life love to settle in Tiny Town to raise their family. Sinister Town is not as bad as its name might seem. It is located at the edges of Sinister Woods, and pokemon who are great at telling tales often call this place home. Pokemon from Sinister Town are great wood craftsmen. Thunderwave Town is located at the base of Thunderwave cave. Pokemon here often like to collect pretty things, and enjoy crafting trinkets from simple metals. Electric and steel types often call this town home. Lastly, Murky Town is located within the entrance of Murky Cave. Poison and Water types hale from this small town. These pokemon often make talented healers, but many ironically call cooking their true talent! Labeled Map Rules-Shiny pokemon, pseudolegendary, and legendary characters are not allowed. Your character, however, may be a darker/lighter shade than typical, and may have minor traits that make them distinguishable (different colored eyes, freckles, spots, hair tufts, jewelry, etc). -You do NOT have to play the games to join! Just have a basic understanding of pokemon! -Each user is currently allowed 2 characters. -Your characters can be on the same rescue team, or, you can form a rescue team with another user! -Literacy is required. Each user is required to post a minimum of 5 well-developed sentences (ie "Charmander snored and sighed" is not adequate) per post. -This roleplay is relaxed and at a slow pace. You must wait for 2 other users to reply before you post again, not including yourself. -Do not power play, metagame, or create unbalanced characters (no Sues, overpowered or overly "good/evil" characters). Pokemon all have different types, weakness, and stats. But for the simplicity of roleplay, please consider all members generally well-matched, save for type differences/weaknesses. -If you're going to have your pokemon spar, please pick a winner before initiating the fight. -Be respectful and patient with other users! -Current character creation limits: 2 of each starter (ie no more than 2 Charmanders between all members), 3 Eevees, 1 Zorua, 1 Riolu. -This roleplay does not include gimmicks! No mega evolutions, z moves, etc etc. Too complex. -Do not advertise in *any* of the threads. -All pokemon must start out as their first evolution. -As always, the rules are subject to change. Rule breakers will be asked to leave, and if they continue to cause issues, we reserve the right to contact moderators. -Seriously, rules are very subject to change. This isn't a basic roleplay so making the rules is hecking hard. |
