Experimenting with these 2 custom wolves. Both have Annwn base. Male has 10 black marks and female has 10 red marks, all in identical slots and able to combine into auburn. They will breed each heat and I'll share the results here.
Update 5/2- data from 5 litters.



Number (no sage used): 18 in 5 litters. I don't have TIII x TIII data but it looks like T*xT* has a noticeably higher production of TII.
Bases produced:
Special- (0%)
TIII- Serpentine (6%)
TII- Auburn (2), Biotite (2), Dinar, Pewter, Pecan, Lilac, Russet, Denim, Sphalerite, Cocoa, Dravite (72%)
TI-  Carmel (2), Brown, Chestnut (22%)

Auburn marks- 11 (6% )
Black/Red- 74 (41%)
Didn't pass- 95 (53%)

Yeiks no wonder I don't see anyone else doing this. Some will be R&C, some will be redesigned and added to my pack. If I have enough money I'll look into adding new blood. Ideally I'll see them spread more auburn across the population, possibly buying some back but I'd love to see one become a stud. Currant record: 2 exist with 5 auburn markings.

Kept pups: Removed all red marks and deigned around auburn smudge heavy.

Dravite with auburn smudge heavy, auburn unders, and auburn agouti.

Normal (Black/Red)- 101 (42%)
Didn't pass- 125 (52%)
G1 Pass Rate- 48%

Data from Cougar Mark Project

Data on mark passage- Mother with a mark x father with no mark in that slot:
Got mother's mark- 31 (44%)
No mark- 39 (56%)

Cougar marks:
Yes- 35 (29%)
Other Parent's Mark- 24 (20%)
No Mark- 61 (51%)
Mark pass= 49%
One Parent's Mark, Other's Color- 0%
Combo mark- 0%
Black x Brown Cougar- Black (3), Nothing (1)

Grouse House gives 60% chance of a slot getting a mark if both parents have one. Data from my two populations gives me a combined average of 48.5%. Yeiks

Generation 2 of 10 Auburn Mark Project. Data will have 1 fewer litter since I skipped the first heat. As of 7/8/23 we are off to a sad start.

Dagwaagin. G2 from founding stock. Sphalerite. 6 black marks, 3 red marks, 1 auburn mark.
Miskwadowe. G2 Slate. 4 black marks, 2 auburn marks, 1 red mark.
Total auburn marks possible- 6.
Slot 1- black x red.
Slot 5- black x red.
Slot 6- black x red.
Slot 7- black x auburn.
Slot 8- black x auburn.
Slot 9- black x auburn.

Final Data from Second Generation

Number (1 black sage used): 19 in 6 litters. TIII x TII.
Bases produced:
TIII- Slate - 5.3%
TII- Pewter (3), Sphalerite (3), Biotite (2), Obsidian (2), Onyx (2), Bedrock - 68.4%
TI- Gray Darker (3), Black (2)- 26.3%

Data only include the 6 possible slots for auburn.
Didn't pass- 63 (55%)
Black/Red- 44 (39%)
Auburn marks (black x auburn)- 7 (6%)
Auburn marks (black x red)- 0%
G2 pass rate= 45%
Agree with the 60% pass rate pretty please?

Final Pass Rate- 46.5%.
