Chapter One, " I am the Sun. "

What a fine, peaceful day it was for The Pack of Moon, the crisp, yet fair day shot golden hues down her auburn fur in their royal rays. A day to grow, to advance. Her sun-splotched fur glistened, and as her wide eyes turned to gaze at the bright star, she smirked. The sun is powerful, the sun is mysterious and feared. The sun was the bringer of growth. She chuckled as she thought more, I am the sun. She was powerful, mysterious, and she soon would grow. Her plans, while in early stages, would advance, and grow.

Alna moved from her perch, a gray rock, jagged and claw-marked, using her slim, but long paws to extend herself, leaping off the rock in one great bound, landing with a small thud. She wasn't very bulky, though muscled, she was lean. She didn't have what others were blessed with, but that didn't matter. Stronger wolves with larger muscles could fight, but they were almost always slower. Alna, with less muscle, made up with her knowledge and agility. Moving soundlessly through the copper strands of grass, she sniffed, trying to locate a meal, or even better, a family member. Her claw-filled paws brought her to a nearby river, a place she knew well. It was the place she had been found, and as she sat at its shore, curiosity, and anger bristled through the Apprentice. Someone left me here, abandoned me, tossed me to the death-giving river, why? She could have been a sun-pack wolf, it made sense, but still, the question remained, Why? A thought flickered within, Maybe I was too terrifying, something was wrong, they tossed me to the river to die, but death did not want me. My time was not up.

  Alna watched the river, seeing a flash of silver, a fish. With another great leap, her fangs sank into meaty, cold flesh. Shaking her fur, she powered out of the flowing waters. once more shaking her fur and dropping the fish, latching to it's neck and breaking it's spine. A sizeable catfish, rare in the river. With a satisfied smirk, she dug in.
