Willow's family pack was wiped out by a cruel invading pack, called The Cruel Pack of the North. Left alone in a harsh blizzard, Willow wandered the wintry woods for days, almost starving to death, until one chilly morning, she caught a scent of prey. She followed that scent for hours, eventually stumbling across a freshly killed elk. She then came nose to nose with a vibrant red wolf, who was kind enough to offer her some of her kill. Grateful, Willow asked the red wolf if she would like to join her, and form a pack together. The red wolf, named Wildfire, happily agreed, and they have been companions ever since. They both shared something in common: The Cruel Pack of the North destroyed their families. Because they found each other among a cluster of willow trees, and because of Willow's name, Wildfire suggested to name their little pack Weeping Willows. Willow at first disliked the idea, but because both of their packs were destroyed in a terrible way, she agreed to the name.
