Flame of the Earth

Flame of the Earth pack was founded by Queen Kaeli when she was but a yearling. Together with her dutiful childhood friend, Keoki, the two settled down in the mountain ranges. It was a slow and steady process of strengthening this new pack with wolves Kaeli came across during her patrols. When Queen Kaeli reached 5 yrs and 5 months old, the pack had grown substantially with a stable number of 30 wolves under her reliable leadership. Four hunting teams were regularly sent out and food was aplenty. She also found the love of her life, Arista, a dashing flame-red Piasa wolf. Arista, charming and confident, soon became second-in-command in Flame of the Earth pack. While busy, Queen Kaeli still found the time to raise 6 children; 3 adopted with Keoki and 3 she had with wolves from other friendly packs. All pups had grown strong and healthy and Queen Kaeli herself was at the peak of her strength. It was then she decided it was time for the pack to move out from the mountains and embrace a more nomadic lifestyle. With the advice of the veteran herbalist, hunters and scouts, Queen Kaeli planned out the pack's future habitat rotation: desert in the spring, swamp in the summer and coniferous forest in the autumn and winter. They were much more challenging places to survive in as compared to the mountains but Queen Kaeli was confident that her pack, Flame of the Earth, would quickly adapt and learn to thrive in the new environments. With less than 2 years left on her clock, this risk-taking move was made to strengthen the pack in preparation for Queen Kaeli's eventual retirement and handover of leadership to the next generation. At 5 yrs and 8 months old, Queen Kaeli (with her partner Arista) gave birth to Flame of the Earth pack's future heir: Kalista. Coincidentally on that very same day, during the joyous celebrations held for the birth of the long-awaited heir, an unknown wolf arrived at the pack's territory border... He was an earth-coloured Slate yearling named Cyrus who sought to join the pack. Although Cyrus was not particularly skilled in anything, Queen Kaeli soon found herself liking the young wolf. Although barely an adult, he was responsible and can be relied on to complete tasks assigned to him. The glint in his eyes showed self-awareness and maturity beyond his years. In fact, Cyrus almost reminded Queen Kaeli of herself.
