Snowfell Pack
[WIP!!]
[more drawings coming soon!]
★★★
In this society of wolves, the use of Alphas, Betas and Omegas isn't hierarchical. These wolves have evolved from their primitive ancestors' social rankings, into something more harmonious. The labels of Alpha, Beta and Omega instead refer to one's physical appearance, and in no way dictate their social standing!
Over time, wolves have lost the need for these primal instincts, therefore Alphas are not solely the leaders of a pack, and Omegas are not completely weak and useless.
These terms are used very loosely within a pack, as to not cause social conflict.
Alphas:
Larger in appearance, and generally stronger. Though this does not impact their social status, [something developed simply based on seniority and individual skills], they can definitely be intimidating. After all, ancestral Alpha blood is still in their veins!
Betas:
Considered average-sized, generally more common among packs. These wolves can become anything, and everything. Normally they bring a neutral presence within in a pack, a sense of normality, which is beneficial for larger groups. Betas are integral to the basic structure of a wolf society!
Omegas:
Small and scrawny in physique, however this does not hinder them from partaking in pack activities and hunting. Omegas may seem like outcasts, but some of them contribute to the pack in other ways! These are usually the artists, philosophers, innovators, and the intellect of a pack.

The effects of Biomes!
Based on where a wolf was born, their physical appearance will change and would have been adapted to a specific Biome [regardless of where they now live]!
Grasslands:
Nicknamed the hobbit wolves, these little guys make their homes among the hills, with digging and architectural skills that could forge an underground empire!
Deciduous:
Pretty average-looking wolves! They make their homes underneath the ever-changing trees. Their packs are usually ever-changing as well, as these wolves are known to be travellers.
Mountains:
With paws made for scaling rocky hills and bluffs of mountains, these wolves are not unlike their mountain-scaling prey! They're known for their large paws, and surprising grace.
Coniferous:
Slightly larger than their Deciduous friends, these wolves are nearly as wise and sturdy as the pine that surrounds them. They know many secrets of the forest that any wolf would covet.
Taiga:
Fluffy and hardy, these wolves are considered to have the generic wolf-look, if not a little bulkier. Because the live in a biome dominated by large hooved prey, and equally as large rivals, they are usually faced with hardships. Strong legs and strong teeth keep them alive and able to protect their territory!
Tundra:
Thick fur on the legs, lithe in the torso, they are the winter-desert cousins of Glacier wolves. Instead of bulk, evolution invested in the craftiness of these wolves. Their claws are also larger than average, adapted to travel across unpredictable landscapes.
Glacier:
Harboring the biggest physiques and the thickest fur, these wolves were born to traverse across sloping snow and survive the coldest winds. They have large bushy tails, and thick, strong legs. Some say they have the paws of a snowshoe hare, and the extra layer of blubber, much like a walrus!
Riparian:
Living in this unique landscape requires much adaptation. Wolves like these can run through ripping waters, scale over bone-breaking terrain, and navigate with the eyes of eagles!
Prairie:
Speedy and cunning, these wolves are smaller than average, as their diets consist nearly of small critters. They are very few and in-between, and nearly impossible to spot a wolf in the Prairie. It's a wide-open Biome, and wandering alone for too long can put a target on your pelt.
Desert:
Nearly mistaken for coyotes or foxes, Desert wolves are tall and lithe, with thin short fur and alert ears! Their bodies are made for withstanding intense heat, and keeping up with the equally as elusive prey. Their features are sharp, much like their wit.
Swamp:
A very aggressive subspecies of wolf- their competitors include a plethora of panthera and gator-infested waters, it's no wonder their strength trumps most! With exaggerated features, like strong legs for swimming and climbing trees, or jagged teeth and claws, these wolves are one of a kind.
Rainforest:
Living near and around water, a wolf's diet now revolves around fishing and basic swimming skills. Nearly as large as a Glacier wolf, however considerably less fluffy, these wolves are pretty isolated, and dont face as many hardships as their Swamp cousins. Because of this, they live rather exotic lives, [but never underestimate their strength]!
