Still Light Pack
Hello & welcome 2 my Den page!!
*NOTE - Lore is still a WIP (I'm very picky & tend to write lore very late @ night) & I'm still waiting to collect enough GC to change my pack name to "Taqqiq Yolotl so dont mind that lol*

THE MOUNTAINS
...Found within an abandoned wood-log cabin wedged between the Mountains and snow was a leather-covered journal with the title "The Mountains" carved into the front cover.
Inside, was a log.

DAY ONE - THE DISCOVERY.
It took three days' worth of hiking to get to where I'm at. Nobody other than colleagues and close friends knows I'm here at Wolf's Den National Park. I figured I'd spare my friends the fact I'd be doing this mostly alone, but I've got the sister locations within probably a week's worth of hiking away. Yeah, we're mostly communicating through radios and walkie-talkies. Not that the signal too good up here in the Mountains.
I'm here up north on a mission - it's been ten years since the reintroduction process of gray wolves in the area began in late 2014 and it's been five since they've been taken down from the endangered list. I'm here to document what's been going on since their last interaction with Man.
Throughout this winter, and the following summer, I'll be recording one of the three formed packs in the area — the Taqqiq Yolotl Tribe, otherwise known as "Moon Spirit" Tribe, while the sister locations cover the other two.

TAQQIQ YOLOTL TRIBE
The Taqqiq Yolotl Tribe is located in the dense woodlands of the Mountains, where their den has been recorded, and in the Grasslands farther down where they've been documented to take down big game -- deer, elk, and bovine -- and other prey animals.
Backed by the ridges of Mountains on their left, and the "Barren Spire Range" farther out, this scraggly group of wolves aren't particularly nomadic like their rival settled packs down South. They rarely venture towards the Prairie, which has been laid claim to scavengers and dispersals.
The pinpoint in the Mountains, followed by the print of boots, is documentation of the journalist's settlement. This located, code name "Snowdrop Point", is a small and nearly desolate cabin and, through the footprints detailed on the map, it seems the journalist hasn't ventured farther than the tribe's hunting grounds.

Role/Status Description
- LEAD WOLF: LEAD WOLVES, otherwise known as the 'alpha' of the pack, is a singular role bestowed typically hereditarily. The Lead Wolf is the leader, the Shepard of the pack who is from a strict bloodline originating from the first pack's Lead Wolf.
- BETA: BETAS, otherwise known as the second-in-command of the pack, is a singular role bestowed typically hereditarily. While Lead Wolves directly lead the pack, making their final decision law, Betas are in charge of pack-managing and being the Lead Wolf's righthand man, alongside Elders.
🏅- HEAD ___: There are multiple roles which have 'HEADS', or leaders, of their group. Typically, the wolves who are HEADS of their roles are either the oldest or highest in stats - or both! They collaborate with the Beta in order to delegate and get assigned places to scout/hunt (if you're a Hunter or Scout, that is).
- LUNA & QUEENS: QUEENS are what pregnant wolves within the pack are called. Whilst there are some whose main role is to, yes, have pups to populate the pack, most QUEENS have outside roles, such as Hunter or Pupsitter. It's much more common to have Pupsitters become QUEENS since they're experienced in pup-handling, and are always in surplus. Hunters and Scouts are a much more limited role where all members are needed to pull weight, therefore once a member in a hunting party becomes pregnant it's expected they work until the day before their due date (day before pups are born). A recognized sub-role are the pups themselves who, after being weaned, are left in the Domum Vitae den to be cared for by pupsitters and guarded by, obviously, the Guardians.
A role much more separate to QUEENS is THE LUNA. The prized mate of the Lead Wolf, when their pair-bonded mate falls pregnant, they're immediately nested and preferably kept separate from the QUEENS. THE LUNA's care attentive and, albeit, meticulous work, but as the mate of the LEAD WOLF it's expected.
🏹 - HUNTER'S APPRENTICE: These apprentices are those who are trained under to eyes of actual Hunters, accompanying them on hunts and being trained by members who specify to the apprentice's strength (an adolescent who's high in Strength will be trained by a Finisher.)
🐾- SCOUT'S APPRENTICE: A much more difficult role to achieve, SCOUT APPRENTICES are rare to come by, seeing as only two scouts are allowed. They're trained under the eyes of already-working Scouts and are usually high in both agility and speed.
🍀- HERBALIST'S APPRENTICE: The role of being a HERBALIST APPRENTICE is the most rigorous of all due to the Herbalist role being both a singular role and one meant for 'blessed' wolves. The HERBALIST'S APPRENTICE resides inside the Domum Sanatus den instead of the Domus Exercitatae den, being trained in the knowledge of foraging, mixing medicines, anatomy, and speaking with the Blessed (gods, higher beings, and deities.)
🫂- PUPSITTER'S APPRENTICE: Seen as the easiest of roles able for adolescents to ascend too, PUPSITTER APPRENTICES are typically warm and motherly, trained in behavior and pup-handling. Although thought to be easiest, pupsitters are trained to be able to identity the on-set symptoms of certain illnesses, training pups to hone in their skills, and mold them into good packmates.
🛡️- GUARDIAN'S APPRENTICE: A sub-role to Pupsitters, as a GUARDIAN'S APPRENTICE these adolescents are trained to be alert, cautious, and to attack first. Bred and molded to be guarders of pups, Queens, and the Luna, Guardians are muscular, aggressive or stoic, and although they tend to pups much like Pupsitters, they're colder and meant to simply protect and not socialize.
- UNDECIDED YEARLINGS: Seen as the lowest of the lows, those who are undecided once they become Yearlings either become Omegas, end up being chased from the pack, or remain in the pack simply for breeding purposes. Eventually, though, they're most likely to be chased. They're picked on to ease out the nerves and pent-up energy packmates may have and eat last.
