Lost Echoes

You're exploring the forests of Taiga for the first time. Without your knowledge, nestled among the towering pine trees, rests a small pack of wolves.Their home can be found on the tallest hill, in a large crater; their dens lined with ferns, large rocks, and torn pine branches; the crater is decorated with well placed bramble bushes and sharp stones.

As you come to a stop, in front of a beautiful lake, you take a second to catch your breath and listen to the birds and frogs sing their songs around you. A gentle breeze tickles your ear while you lap away at the water in front of you. All is peaceful.. all is well.. and now everything is silent.

Jolting your head up, you pick up the distant sound of a howl.. and another.. and another.. each howl gets closer to you, as if they knew you were here. What do you do.. do you run? Or face the pack head on? The choice is yours.
