Her green eyes fluttered open. The brown wolf sat up and shook her black-tinted fur as she thought about the dream she had just experienced. It was a fog of her walking winding forest paths and her hunting strange animals native to the foreign land she was wandering. But the one thing that stood out the most was the wolf she had met. A black she-wolf standing in the starlight, the moon glinting brightly off the stream separating them.
"Hello" the black wolf had whispered. The brown wolf cocked her head, squinting to make out a face, but it was shadowed... "Who are you" she responded. "Tala." "That's a pretty name, mine is 𝕎𝕚𝕝𝕕𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖." "Welcome to your destiny, 𝕎𝕚𝕝𝕕𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖! I am here to guide you, but you must understand one thing" Tala said before taking a deep breath before 𝕎𝕚𝕝𝕕𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖 could ask any questions, muttering, "You must understand that this isn't an easy position. The Council of the Stars have watched you for many moons and have chosen you to lead a new group of wolves because of your integrity and ingenuity, but most of all, your natural leadership. I trust their discission, but only time will tell if they chose wrong." Tala tilted her head and silently studied 𝕎𝕚𝕝𝕕𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖. 𝕎𝕚𝕝𝕕𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖 waited for her to explain more, but she remained quiet. "I don't understand. Where will I settle? Who will follow a lone wolf like me? Who are the Council of the Stars?" she blurted out all in one breath. Tala chuckled, "You will learn soon enough." Then a howl cut through the night air. "I must go. You will see me again in the waking world soon, but until then, good luck." Then the moon was suddenly covered by clouds, and when they had passed, Tala was gone.
𝕎𝕚𝕝𝕕𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖 realized she had her eyes closed as she as reminiscing the last moments of her vision. Yes, she knew it was a vision now. Then she heard a voice whisper on the wind, "Follow the worn path. Now go!" She didn't question the voice, who she now knew was Tala's. She then stood up, stretched once more, and followed the worn path to destiny.
