Alpha- Lead wolf. Once a wolf becomes lead wolf they are stripped of the name given to them by their mother. They are known only as Alpha. The lead wolf explores the territories. They are responsible for finding new wolves to join the pack and for assigning the pack roles. The Alpha protects the pack.

Beta- The second in Command. This is usually the lead female or the breeding male. The Beta is someone the Alpha trusts completly. They are in charge of overseeing the pack when the Alpha is away. The also send out patrols and hunting parties. 

Scouts- Scouts explore uncharted lands. They find unclaimed land that the pack can settle into. Before the pack can enter the lands the scouts must make sure the land is safe. Once a land is deemed safe the Alpha may chose to move the pack to these lands. The lands becomes free to hunt in and explore.

Hunter- Hunters are responsible for providing the pack with food. They must work together to find and kill what the pack needs to survive. It is considered a great responsibility to be named hunter as your success or failure determines the packs survival.

Pupsitter- Pupsitters watch the pups. They protect the pups when the others are away. To be named a pupsitter is a great honor as the packs future is in your paws. To care for the pups is to care for the packs future hunter, scouts, beta, alpha, ect. It is to carefor the packs future.

Elders- Elders are aged wolves. These wolves are valued by the pack. The elders may still hunt and scout, though they do not have to. They have done their fair share for the pack. In their old age it is the packs turn to care for them. The pack values it's elders and their wisdom. Elders will often tell stories to the pups and anyone who will listen. They give tips and wisdom from their experiences to the younger generations. In the pack you are considered very foolish if you do not listen and learn from the elders experiences. 

Omega- This is the weakest member of the pack. They are not good at scouting, hunting, or pupsitting. Although they are still a valued member of the pack. Their main job is to clean out the dens and make sure that the mess from the packs meals are cleaned up. Most packs belittle and berate the omega. The omega is often bullied in packs who don't understand the importance of the omega. The omega may not be the most revered member of the pack, but with out them the pack would live in their own filth. The hunters, scouts, and pupsitters are to busy to clean the dens and their left over bones. The omega does this. By cleaning the left over bones the omega keeps unwanted guests from following the scent of the kill to their dens, and by cleaning the dens the omega keeps fleas and infections out of the pack lessening  the chance for illness as well as providing fresh bedding for a better nights sleep. Being the omega is not the most glamourous position, but it is one of the most important ones.
