The Moonwatchers
Long ago, years from now it started, an unbreakable and loyal pack formed under the moonlight.
A pack who promised to always protect the unprotected and fend off the ones who seek to hurt, all because of One she-wolf in particular.
Moon was her name, and she had come from a great line of wolves just like herself. But she was nothing in comparison to others. Her family spent most of their lives working together under the dark cover of night. Under the moonlight, they had a great power like no other and whereas some wanted to harness it and use it for their own benefits. They used it for only greatness and to protect a secret land powered and blessed by the Moon. Unfortunately, the power skipped a generation and Moon's mother saw that as a curse When Moon's trial came to unleash her power and protect the land just like the ones before her had done, she failed the trial, and she was humiliated in front of the whole pack. She had been deemed cursed, an omen of bad luck and misfortune, The whole pack laughed and degraded her, and in a fit of rage ran off, tears clouding her vision and staining her muzzle. She felt so humiliated she didn't turn back. She had exiled herself. She just couldn't go back, facing the embarrassment, the whispers, the dirty looks. "No." She refused. She continued walking until the last of her tears dried off.
The she-wolf looked up as she heard shouting up ahead. She walked towards it, her curiosity getting the best of her until she heard a shrill yelp piercing the air, "I told you to leave me alone!" When Moon got closer, she saw two wolves up ahead. One was lowered to the ground, and a paw placed over his muzzle. She saw blood dripping from behind his paw. The other wolf was tensed and the hair on his back standing straight up. Moon rushed over to deescalate the situation, jumping in between the two and trying to calm them down. She had learned that their names were Cedric and Carlos. Much to Carlos's joy and Cedric's displeasure, Moon tried her best to become friends with them. But Cedric acted as if he wanted nothing to do with them.
As the small trio were hanging out, she heard something rustling in the bushes. She was curious she approached the bush, asking if anyone was in it. A voice replied with "No... Maybe .. yes.. go away!"
She had convinced whoever was in there to come out, and a small-ish she-wolf slowly creeped out, all sorts of leaves and twigs embedded in her pelt. Carlos and Cedric approached the duo. Moon was overjoyed at having another friend. She had learned that the she-wolf was named Antoinette.
She was the youngest member of their little group, but she had a heart of gold and was determined to always prove herself to them. And she wasn't alone. She had been traveling with another called Elliot. He, however, was the complete opposite of Antoinette, in a way that he was shady and untrustworthy in Cedric's point of view.
The small group traveled around with Moon often leading. They soon reached an unfamiliar but inhabited territory as they couldn't smell any other canines. Moon saw the perfect opportunity to settle down here. As young as Moon was, she knew nothing about being the leader of a pack. But on that same night she deemed themselves as the "Moonwatchers" And that they would forever protect the unprotected and fend off the ones who seek to hurt. Over time, there pack grew into what it is today.
"The Moonwatchers, those who live to protect the unprotected and defeat those who seek to hurt,
In a world of darkness, they are the guiding light"
