Ironridge Tribe
Tribe Naming Traditions
Any wolf who joins the Ironridge Tribe is given a tribe name consisting of a prefix (which is followed by an
apostrophe) and a suffix.
However, wolves born into the tribe inherit their name's prefix from a parent -- sons inheriting their prefix from their fathers, daughters inheriting from their mothers -- which allows for lineages to be recognized with ease. Meanwhile, the name's suffix allows for a distinction to be made between that individual wolf and their namesake.
For example, a father named Thor'endar would pass Thor to his son, who might be named Thor'veckar.
