Pack Lore
Years ago, bright-eyed Tulip and her dedicated mate, Matlock, decided that they wanted to start their own pack at the base of the then-unoccupied Mount Si. During the warm months they would live in forests surrounding the mountain's base and hunt in the valleys, and in the colder months they would climb the mountain to huddle for warmth in caves and crags.
The first few years were harsh and with few established hunters, Tulip often sacrificed her own well-being for her pack, just barely surviving on bugs and small meat scraps. She and Matlock were considered fair Leads and they bore two litters, though an indiscretion on Tulip's part resulting on her bearing another Lead's pup, whom she named Glenoma. It was decided during Tulip's pregnancy with Glenoma that only her and Matlock's descendants would be able to take on the role of the pack's Lead. This never sat well with Tulip's red and gold daughter, and she decided to spite her mother by birthing more pups than her mother. This plan backfired when both Glenoma and Tulip were pregnant during a particularly harsh winter and the stress caused Tulip to go into labor early, and months later in the spring an accident occurred as a result of their hunters being overworked to provide for the rapidly growing pack, which ended with Glenoma's pups being killed by a wayward deer. Once her pups were weaned, a now-disgraced Glenoma left the pack, leaving behind her young sons Connell and Sequim.
