Rose Lake Pack

This is the story of the Rose Lake Pack, a strange pack of wolves that mixes both mortals and non-mortals alike.
It was founded when the trio of wandering wolves Kafiri, Danos, and Luhjin came across an isolated, pristine lake in the mountains and decided to call it home. There was ample prey, water, shelter, and it was quiet. In time, the pack grew as they came across loners and had pups of their own.
And then.... and then the strangest things started happening. The first: a shimmering wolf stepped from the lake itself, and made herself quite at home. Perhaps even this was her home before the trio arrived. But though she was the first, she was far from the last.
It was hard to predict when another would arrive. And rarely did they appear in the same ways. Some merely passed through. Others, however, stayed.
Some wolves say that these unusual visitors have always been there, and it is only now that the mortal wolves are learning how to see them; or that they're only now starting to reveal themselves. Some say they're drawn from other places - other planes, even - by some energy of the lake itself.
Whatever the truth is, the Rose Lake Pack has learned to live mostly in peace with these Other Wolves.
