Sun's Order
Generations ago, wolves lived in a vast valley of green, lush tall grass, the land painted by an array of colors from the late blooming of spring. The sun, guardian and protector of life, watched the life that had given fruition under It's influence.
☀ However, as human settlers arrived in the vale, land had to be destroyed down to make space for invasive cattle and crops. Using fire, a gift only It could have, enraged the entity in the eyes of the Sun's Order. It cast down it's rage in the form of a wildfire, drying lakes and destroying the land. It reminded the wolves of It's power, the same one It used to create life, could create death and destruction in the wrong hands. Ever since, afraid of their guardian, the wolves had decided to take care as to not again enrage the Sun or at least have shelter from It's wrath and flames should they happen, they retreated into the tunnels, from abandoned dens to old manmade mines, and only would come out at night when It slept.
☀ Raising their generations in the darkness, tradition that they're named after gemstones, minerals, rocks and cave animals remained. Only those touched by the Sun can come out during the day and bear special names, being blasphemy to name any not graced after their guardian. If the golden color of the Sun reached a pup in total pitch black, then it's a sign of their guardian. The darkness made many become progressively blind, but sun-touched can mysteriously see (that being because they're the only ones going outside since a young age, unknown to them), which furthens their belief that they are special.
☀ Herbalists are an exception, as their teachings and herb foraging happening at night as they're too essential to wait for a sun-touched pup. Often, these wolves feed more on the blood than the flesh of their prey due to their lack of sunlight vitamins, brought by the Sun's Order down to their meeting camp of Shadow's Hide.
