Mystical Pack
hey there :3 im mel!
she/he/it/mrrp/snarl
The area around you is so thick with fog, you can barely see two pawsteps in front of you. You raise your snout to take in a breath and gather yourself.
Then there's a sound. A loud crack.
You swirl around to locate the source, ears perked and tail raised to show that you mean business.
There's.. nothing there.
Confused, you raise your head and glance around, perhaps you had missed something?
The cold fog seemed to clear away by the time you were back on your original path, there was definitely something up… perhaps you could shake your tail off of the invisible foe. With a sudden burst of speed, you rushed into the woods. Though you could barely see, expertly leaping over or running around any obstacles in your path was of no difficulty for an expert wolf such as yourself.
You feel your legs growing weary, and come to a stop, panting. There was no chance in hell the invisible creature could've followed you all that way.. right?
You were wrong. So, so, terribly wrong.
Towering right in front of you, a beast of incredible stature, the brown fur on its paws stained crimson with the blood of its foes. It bared its teeth, glaring down at you with beady red pupils. The way it gazed through you sent a horrible shiver down your spine.
Without thinking twice, you turned tail and ran. You could barely run a few feet before something- someone stopped you in your tracks. Squinting, you could see movement in the brushes, and hear pawsteps echoing through the growth. It was if the very shadows themselves were against you.
You could hear your own heart thudding against your ribcage as you cowered low into the grass, tail tucked beneath your legs.
The shadows that had been threatening your life all stopped and glanced up, looking at someone behind you.
The large, brown beast stepped out in front of you, fast enough for it to take you a moment to realize it was even there.
(Which, if you weren't scared out of your mind, would be quite impressive)
It scanned you up and down, finally stopping to stare straight into your eyes- no, your soul. Terrified, you backed away, but were stopped yet again by the monster's acquaintances. The only thing you could hear was your own breathing and the faint sizzling, which you subconsciously registered was coming from the beast's paws, burning the grass.
For a long, grueling moment, it just stared, before it narrowed its eyes and turned away.
"They aren't worth the trouble."
Ouch.. but still, you were incredibly relieved.
The shadows surrounding you seemed to have dissipated by the time the brown beast had gone. You let out an exaggerated sigh of relief and get the HELL out of there.
