A Theocratic Diarchy with SHADOWSANCT

Within a silent hinterland, frozen pines shudder. Upon Spire high, blood is spilled within a circle of stones. The Lich sits upon his throne, surrounded by the bones.



Hidden in a gnarled glen in the midst of the vast glacial plain lies Bonestrewn. A stone's throw to the thrashing seas, its grounds are marred by flora, effigy, and cairn. The pack has made its home in an abrupt rocky outcropping of forest's epicenter. Haunted caverns hollow its mountain. Upon its rocky exterior, a path twists from earth to heaven. Its apex: the Spire - of ritual and vantage.



Brittle bones cast a wide-patterned net over the territory; dense-waning from the spire outward into the caverns then grounds. Femurs, ribs, and tibia fade into the rock as though having borne it; chalk white and bleached. Skulls stare vacantly from the hollows within crags, their empty sockets endlessly gazing.



And at the far corner of the sacred space, facing the distant (open) waters, sits His throne.

Bonestrewn is a theocratic diarchy; ruled by dual-rule of the duel-dieties, The Lich and The Shadow Walker.  

He, the Necromancer. The birds are His eyes and ears, divine messengers of His Will.  She, who escaped the Shadow Lands, controller of all cast down by the light. 

All hail the Lich and his undead bride.  



The Divinity are the offspring of The Lich and The Shadow Walker.

The Sacrosanct are those with strands of divine orchestration, demideities in their own right.

The Circle are high priestesses and execute the will of the Lich. There are always 5, as the points of the star.

ᚾ haruspex: diviner of the sacrificed (spirit)

ᚾ hedgewitch: herbalist (earth)

ᚾ keykeeper: maintainer of the carvings (air)

ᚾ scavenger: tender of the bones (fire)



The Coven consist of the exalted huntresses.

The Followers consist of the lower-rungs of  pack-society whose roles are varied.

ᛟ caretaker: holder of the knife

ᛟ tender: tenders of the sacrificial

ᛟ follower



The Sacrificial is made of those who have yet to survive their trials. Most never will.
