Boreal Wind
All pups/wolves in my den with a "π" in their footnote are named by my grandma
You've reached the highest peak of the mountains, distantly in the sky you see a bright green, purple flicker of light dancing in the clouds.
Abruptly, a strange blue flash and a sound of thunder erupts from the pier behind you. You turn around and try to find the source of what you had just witnessed - The summit behind you had suddenly morphed into a sort of valley! The edges were blocked by mountains, stones, and ice. Moving shapes wandered around the valley, which seem to emit a strange light.
Suddenly, you heard a familiar melody shared by everyone of your kind.
A deep howl echoed from the pier.
"They're wolves!" You whispered under your breath.
The only possible entrance could be the peak you're standing on, right? It took strong willpower to reach this point, you couldn't imagine having to work this hard to get to your den every day.
You observe quietly, before the mountains began to shake. They're moving! The giant stone and ice masses shift with ease to create a small path in between peaks, before they quickly line up with each other like a puzzle. Strange markings line the rocks, which seemed to glow green and blue.
You see six shapes, which immediately entered the bowl-shaped refuge from the mountains. There were two wolves, who distinctly shined the brightest of them all.
"Magic wolves!" You abruptly yipped, which in the moment felt like a breakthrough, but also disclosed your location.
All of a sudden, the ground below you turned into ice. You immediately loose your footing, but still slide softly down into the secluded area below.
You land on a soft pile of snow, and you brace yourself for anything that might happen.
Wolves surround you, each covered in shining trinkets and taking glowing steps.
You realize you can't stand up from the ice and snow slipping underneath your paws, so you give up and scramble to find a non-embarrassing position. You try to pass a non-threatening grin as you stare at the wolves muttering incoherent words to each other.
At once, they started stepping backwards to make a path.
A huge wolf walked towards you, his steps left indigo puddles and wings draped behind him. His tail seemed to be lit in a shining blue inferno.
Next to his side was another large wolf, his pelt shined in shades of iridescent red, purple, green, and blue. He was seemingly younger, yet adorned with the same gorgeous trinkets as the bluish wolf. His face was fixed in a terrifying snarl, bony growths like horns twisted around his body and he looked ready to attack. Upon looking closer, you couldn't tell if the patchy reddish marks are blood or the actual color of his coat.
"Who are you? A traveler?" The blue wolf studied you intently before turning his head, saying something in a language you didn't understand. The multicolored wolf nodded, and the very growths on his body seemed to 'retract' along with his snarl- perhaps he was shrinking as well? At that moment he looked not too dissimilar to everyone else, putting you slightly more at ease.
The blue wolf looked back at you, his voice was stern, but you could sense something in him that told you he wasn't an enemy.
You spoke your name, and looked down at your paws anxiously.
"I am Ashen River, welcome to Boreal Wind."
