Weary Traveler

You wander the cold, dim forest, unsure of where you currently are. You pause as you look around, noticing that you don't hear any of the normal forest soundscapes. No little chirps of birds or their fluttering wings, nor any buzzing of annoying insects in your ears. It's rather strange.

Listening closely, you can barely make out the sounds of what could possibly be other wolves. However, before you can move towards the faint sounds movement on your left freezes you. A strange looking wolf steps out of bushes. Their face marked with red paint and a green cloak wrapped tightly around their body. How didn't you notice them before?

"Who are you?" The stranger asks you. "I see. I am head scout of the Lost Hills pack and this is our territory. If you wish, I can take you to our Pack Leader." The scout said softly, showing no signs of aggression. "Or, if you are just traveling through, I'll escort through our territory." The scout was smart to not allow an outside wolf wander through their territory unaccompanied. "But if you need a place to rest we have dens for travelers such as yourself. You are more than welcome to stay as long as you like." How very kind of this pack to let you, an outsider, to stay.

You considered the options given, shifting from paw to paw as you realize just how far you have walked and how tired you feel suddenly. But you left your pack with a goal in mind, would stopping here help you towards your goal or should you continue on through?
