Swift Gale Pack
Notice: I don't take the game too seriously and have more storytelling-based intentions with my pack.
Ranks
Alpha
The head of the Pack. The Alpha is always a pup of the previous Alpha.
Heirs
The Heirs are the pups of the current Alpha. When the Alpha reaches seven years old, they will select one Heir as their Chosen Heir who will become the next Alpha. The Chosen Heir is often a wolf with higher stats or a unique appearance. When a new Alpha rises, all former Heirs must become Wanderers or leave the Pack.
Beta
The Alpha's most trusted advisor and the Pack's Head Mentor. The Beta is always the oldest Mentor.
Mentors
Mentors are older wolves over the age of five years but younger than seven years who have left their previous role to assist in the training of the Trainees. They are usually former rank heads.
Theta
The Pack's Herbalist. There is only ever one at a time and they will only take a Trainee around the age of six (6) years in preparation for their retirement.
Gamma
The Pack's Head Scout. The Gamma is always the oldest Scout.
Scouts
The wolves who Scout the territory to discover new land or locate changes in the territory. There are only ever two Scouts at a time and it is rare for them to take a Trainee.
Delta
The Pack's Head Hunter. The Delta is always the oldest Hunter
Hunters
The Hunters are split into three sub-classes - Stalkers, Chasers, and Finishers - and form groups of five with one Stalker, one Finisher, and three chasers. Typically there will only be two groups at a time and it is uncommon for them to take Trainees.
Zeta
The Pack's Head Warrior / Head Pupsitter. The Zeta must be the oldest Pupsitter.
Warriors / Pupsitters
This rank is a single rank of wolves that play two roles in the Pack. They are Warriors who protect the Pack from danger, but due to a mix of the amount of downtime of such a role and how the Pack's pups are most susceptible to danger, they also take the role of Pupsitters. The Warriors/Pupsitters are more likely to take Trainees than most ranks, but it depends on the pack size and how many extra paws they need to watch the pups.
Omega
The Pack's Head Mediator. The Omega is always the oldest Mediator.
Mediators
The role of the Mediators is to keep the peace and solve disputes. Larger social sessions of three or more wolves require the presence of a Mediator. There are typically four Mediators at a time, each with different personalities, though it's not all too uncommon for them to take Trainees.
Elders
Elders are wolves above the age of seven who have retired from their previous duties and have earnt their right to rest.
Trainees
Wolves between the ages of six months and one year who are in training to take a role. A wolf that reaches the age of a Trainee without their Rank Path being determined becomes a Wanderer.
Pups
Wolves younger than six months. From the age of three months they can be assigned a Rank path and trained in necessary stats.
Wanderers
Wolves without a role who wander the territory and beyond, bringing news back to the Pack.
Other Lore
Mates and Pair Bonds
In the Swift Gale Pack there is a difference between Mates and Pair Bonds. Mates are wolves that have offspring and usually refers to a Pack Female and an Outsider Male. Female wolves seek to have pretty pups so they will seek out pretty males. They usually never see each other again, but if they do they're often on good terms. On the other paw, Pair Bonds are those who have a romantic relationship and raise pups together. They are usually partners for life. Some Pair Bonds may also be Mates, but it is uncommon.
