Pineberry Pack
WELCOME TO THE FAR NORTH
Welcome to the Northern Wastes!
Saarinen Glacierclaw has lead this pack for many moons, taking on the challenge of claiming the northern wastes as his territory. For seasons the pack has thrived here, however after a mysterious fissure appeared beneath the ice things have never been the same.

The Frozen Maw
The Pineberry Pack has called the frozen swaths of the Taiga home for as long as any wolf can remember. Even the most eldest members of the pack, far before Glacierclaw's time, remember when the wolves lived amongst beasts of fantastic ability. Giant wooly creatures with bone spears that spiraled forth from their faces, which coexisted with wolves of incredible size and strength. Although there were also the more horrible ones, whos frightful jaws could crush even stone. The elders often spoke of them as living nightmares, as the ancient tales depicted them as an indescribable writhing mass of limbs and fur. They were false wolves, banished by the first packs of the Taiga, and were rumored to have been frozen within the ice of the Great North Glacier.
Many seasons have passed since that time, and as the planet changed, the packs of the Taiga changed with it. The wolves of Pineberry lost their great size and voracity, but with that, gained knowledge and swiftness. Pack life remained virtually the same as the years progressed, however as the climate eventually warmed, the permafrost that had highlighted the territory of Pineberry began to disappear. Icebergs grew scarcer, glaciers smaller, and the first snowfall came later every year. The world was warming, and with it, something slumbering beneath the ice began to stir.
The scout Tundratail was the first to report one of the 'Frozen Maws', dubbed as such due to their unnatural darkness, and the characteristic chiseled icicles that form along the mouth of the tunnel that frighteningly resemble fangs. The first maw appeared on the southern side of the Great North Glacier, outwardly appearing as almost a perfect dark circle embroidered in ice. The pit was deep, almost labyrinthine as Tundratail reported he originally wanted to scout the location for prey. However the further the ventured, the worse he felt, and eventually was forced to turn back. Describing how the ice felt almost alive in some way, and it was like he had been crawling down the gullet of some horrid primordial beast. Upon a second excursion to the glacier almost a week later, two more Frozen Maws had appeared along the eastern edge, roughly the same size as the first. However one sported a crimson blotch in front of the entrance that Tundratail had to take notice of. Upon closer inspection, it appeared as if something had been dragged through the snow, and had stained the immediate area red with its blood. The thing had been dragged into the bowels of the inky abyss, and eerily left trails of wriggling black maggots amongst its heavy paw prints. Tundratail reported that he had never once seen maggots like that before in his life.
