Oriole Court
I am currently raising a litter of kittens. I will still be active but not online as often per day.
Welcome to Oriole Court!
Oriole Court is a riparian woodland based pack. The members of Oriole Court strongly revere birds. They believe that birds travel between worlds. In spiritual celebration of the diversity of colors that birds come in, some members of Oriole Court dye their coats.
Additionally, the typical Oriole Court pack member typically is named after a bird. Some wolves born outside of Oriole Court opt not to change their names, however, and this is a choice respected deeply. The relationships built between the members of Oriole Court are based off of mutual respect for one another.

Oriole Court was founded by Denver. He initially founded Oriole Court under an different name, and the wolves of this pack lived in the mountains. One harsh winter, however, the pack suffered immense losses -- including Denver's mate, Oriole. Only a few pack members survived the harsh winter.
The wolves left in the pack remained loyal to Denver, and they all voted together to leave the mountains. On the trip down, when the land became more lush, Denver saw an oriole in a cottonwood. Denver saw it as a sign that his mate was visiting, and also a sign that his pack had found where they were meant to be.
The pack changed their name to Oriole Court soon after settling into the riparian. They realized that there were many lessons to be learned from the birds that thrived in this ecosystem. It was Denver who initially began to dye his coat, using some of the local herbs that grew nearby the den. Other wolves soon took the habit up after him.
After Denver passed away, Wigeon -- one of his grandpups -- took over as leader. Wigeon led Oriole Court into an era of success and growth. But when a wildfire roared through the riparian, it took Wigeon's life along with many, many other pack members. Wigeon's immediate daughter, Budgie, who was in line to become leader after Wigeon, stepped down due to her grief.
Afterwards, Chickadee took over as leader of Oriole Court. She led the pack into an era of great content and peace. Under her leadership, the pack grew in size, rapidly becoming more successful. Chickadee worked hard with the youngest members of the pack to create a sense of unity and pride in the members of Oriole Court.
However, Chickadee knew her time was soon to come. One fall evening, she approached Budgie let her know that she knew her time was soon, and asked if Budgie wanted one of her daughters to become the next leader. Budgie knew at once that Egret (who we are pretending isn't inbred, I had no clue until I promoted her lol) was a wise choice. Though Egret was young, she showed great promise, and Budgie knew she was the right choice for deputy.
