Kian's home got destroyed when he was a pup and then sickness took over the pack causing Kian to never want a sick pup or wolf to suffer what he did.

Backstory
They fought for survival as harsh cold winters swept over what was left of their home after a forest fire. They had to travel miles and miles with no food or water. Everyone felt doomed and were to week to carry on. Most of the pack didn't make it and have left the current alpha alone.
