Monteverde
A home for the murderers, mates, scoundrels, fakes..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You look around the wooded area, trying to keep off your hurt leg before pricking your ears at the sound of a branch cracking. Your fur bristles slightly, still a bit on edge after barely escaping from your own pack. Your own family turned on you.. because of one mistake.. You dont have time to reminisce the past before a rather large black and grey ticked wolf is suddenly right in your face. You stumble back, having to arch your neck to look at his face- this dude is huge. His piercingly yellow eyes glowered down on you, turning his attention to your wounds although it didn't seem to change his expression.
"What are you doing here."
His tone was both deep and a bit hoarse, as if he'd either just got done screeching at someone or he hasn't spoken in a long while. Your ears flattened, watching him nervously while keeping an eye out for a place you can escape if you need to.
"..Just passing through, don't mind me" You managed to utter, the larger wolf raising a brow in suspicion. You hold your breath, trying not to piss off the wolf.
"You got an awful amount of wounds for taking a stroll. Why are you really here?"
You inhale sharply before explaining your predicament, averting your eyes and instead staring at the ground. The wolf flicked his ear, simply nodding before explaining:
"My name is Whitty. Whether you be on the run or rejected by others, you're welcome to stay with my group as long as you want. If you want to fit in, don't ask others about their pasts or why they came in the first place- It's common courtesy. Wolves come and go, but if you want a safe place to stay you'll have to pull your weight."
You nod quickly, Whitty's mouth curling into a comforting smile ever so slightly as he helps you balance, and leads you to the camp. The other wolves perk their head up, quiet mumbles being heard from among them as they questioned your presence. He gives them a dismissive look before leading you to where you'll be staying- a quaint little cave with a few other wolves- padding off before you get the chance to thank him. You let out a sigh, laying your head down on the soft bed of leaves, dozing off.
