The Matriarchy

The Matriarchy has long been ruled by daughters and rarely ever ruled by sons; a long line of Queens with the occasional King from the royal bloodline originating from the beginning. A daughter from the Ruler's offspring will be chosen as heiress to the throne. If there isn't a daughter or any daughters are unsuited to rule, a son will rule. In the situation that the current ruling leader has no pups, a female from the pack will be picked as next ruler.

The pack herbalist is chosen by the leader. They are often the ruler's most trusted or somewolf the ruler seems fit for the position. When the time comes, and the herbalist is reaching the end of their walk in the uninterrupted and forever moving tread of life, together with the ruling figure, they will pick a youngin to succeed the current herbalist. A wolf that has been offered the role has the right to refuse the role if they wish.
