O My Heart
Right as the vast and gaping jowls of the river settle to sandbar, the trodden path which speaks centuries of wolves continues beyond the banks, beyond the shyly sprouting jute. It would signify no more than the settlement of a pack. Not any pack, one with a foundation grasping generations. The grass around is tossed like a windswept mane, without pattern. The path paves itself up the cliffs which line the valley, each jutting edge adorned in flat rock. At the higher altitudes, pale and pleading lavender struggles between the crevices. The path continues into the stony field. Wolves make their home here, it seems. It's vast and airy, but warm, and the sun touches it at a quaintly perfect angle.
Tucked under some rock stands a stout and rigid cave entrance, with some gripping plants and its age's worth of moss. Thickets of verdant grass are brushed along the sides. Some bones and scraps are thrown about just outside.

Interlude's Reign

"Fish on the Rocks"
The first Alpha, Interlude holds the most significance in the pack's history. Along with his mates, he sired two children of his own blood and two adopted into his blood. He created the basis of the ranks and the code of the pack, later set in stone by Aperture. He was often anxious about setbacks, but encouraged forward by his mates and companions, Bouvier and Chessie. Under the trio, the pack ventured far. Chessie assured the competence of carefully assembled hunting coalitions. She oversaw each party and punished displays of incompetence. Bouvier served in the first and highly regarded party, a firsthand overseer of the dynamics of a hunting party. While it took the power of his companions, Interlude still managed to do what was necessary of an Alpha. He valued mutual respect, the strength of a pack, and rising from his darkest hour.
Aperture's Reign

The second alpha, Aperture held together the infrastructure of the pack during cruel winters and famines. She witnessed a great expansion, but also more wolves to endure the season. She explored the lands with as much spirit as she could muster to always contribute her part in hunting, scouting, and foraging for the pack. Aperture established an extended list of laws and rankings. In its time, the pack faced strict expectations of hunting. Never was her intent out of sheer anger, but the need for survival and the share of each pack member.
