Lithians
Lithian Pack is a strict tradition and hiracy following pack.
Each wolf has two names, the first from their mother (if they are born into the pack) or alpha (if they are adopted into the pack). The second representing where they are in the hiracy. new-borns's and pups's second name is cub, adolescents' is bark. When adolescents have passed an exam where they present their strengths to the pack, the alpha then gives them their second individual name that shows their strength and assigns their role to the pack, this role is called full-names.
To become full-names, adolescents will follow and join full-name wolves on their duties to gain experience, and once they decide what job they want to serve, they will ask a full-name to be their gradian. (This wolf can be any wolf except the alpha who chooses who they become gradians to, chosen adolescents becomes heirs and train next to the alpha to become their shadow.) If the full-name agrees an announcement will be made and the gradian will be responsible for rising the adolescent and training them for their exam. If adolescents birth parents were to die, guardians normally take on the parental role due to the strong bond they have with the adolescent. Adolescents must have a guardian to be able to take the exam, this may lead to one full-name wolf to be a guardian to more then one adolescents.
In the most defendable grounds of the territory are the den grounds, where the pack sleeps and brings back food.
New-borns and Pups stay in the nursery with their mothers and the Pupsitter along with the Healer and their adolescent if they are a guardian. The nursery is in the deepest and most securer part of the den grounds. Adolescents stay in the same den as hunters and scouts, this is so they can watch older wolves and decide what role they want to preform for the pack.
The alpha, their mate and any of their born cubs/heirs stay in a separate den.
When a wolf becomes alpha or mate of the alpha, they lose the second name, for they become more important then their defining strength. Mates of alphas normally also become second in command (unless their mate doesn't want to be alpha and theirs another full-name that is better prepared for being alpha. although this happens very rarely) and will instantly become alpha in the current one dies. Due mates remaining for life, when either the alpha or second in command die, the heir will become second in command after they've spent an entire moon cycle as a full-name. If the alpha or second in command die and the heir is too young to take second in command, a respected and experienced full-name will be elected by the new alpha and healer and step down when the heir becomes of age. If a tragedy happens and all royalty die, the healer will share the alpha position with a chosen full-name and train them until the healer sees them fit.
Heirs and healers normally born or adopted cubs to the alpha and their mate, this leads to healers and alphas being siblings hence the reason why healers are highly regarded and consulted in when regarding the leadership of the pack.
If either the alpha or second in command is male, he will become the stud of the pack. If neither of the alpha or second in command is male, the eldest male full-name will be selected.
