Rose Cohort

The Rose Cohort is a group of wolves who share a common philosophy-- community is the reason for life.

In the harsh desert environment, scarce resources frequently drive wolves to set off on their own. However, Mulchpeak watched an ant colony work together to lift a dove carcass, and knew the power of many united. Her proudest moment was when the Cohort decided they had enough members that each wolf could specialize, instead of everyone sharing the same duties. Even though Mulchpeak is regarded by outsiders as the leader, everyone in the Cohort knows that they are equally vital to the pack. New members are greeted with joy, but also wariness, for not every wolf has the same, strong values as this pack.

One important tradition is the naming ceremony, where adolescents can choose their specialty and are given a suffix to honor their talents or remarkable personality traits. This responsibility goes to Sunripple, the most experienced pupsitter, for she has the most insight on each pup. 

Although full-on celebrations are rare, amusement is common, with music and creative food combinations happening as often as possible. Something as simple as a pretty sunset can transform a dull evening into one full of raucous laughter.
