The Story of the Wise Sheep

SpoilerWhen the world of humans started to spread into wild territory the gods of the world became angered by their abuse of their skills. So to punish them the Moon created and sent a vengeful creature upon them. "Punish the humans and all they have created." the Moon ordered. The creature took the shape of a cougar, sleek and black, and bigger than a large boulder. And so the creature fell upon the humans to do the god's work. Unfortunately, the creature was created and fed off of so much hate that it went on a rampage. Killing any and every animal on sight, including those who seek out prey when there was no other option. The Moon, panicked by their mistake, tried to kill the disgusting beast. But it was too late, it had gained too much power then, too much wisdom from the mortal world.

In a last-ditch effort, the Moon sought help from mortals. They pranced down from the sky and talked to the animals that suffered the most from the black beast. "Who are you?" A wise voice of an elder sheep boomed from the center of a herd. "I need your help." pleaded the god. "I am sure you know of the beast that roams these plains and feasts on your members." The small sheep herd looked at each other, skeptical. The elder spoke up "Yes, what about it?"

"I know how to defeat him, but I need your help."

The elder's face changed from monotone to suddenly interested, but the skepticism remained. "And why should we trust you?" The god had to admit they did have a point, the sheep didn't have as much faith in the gods as they were man-made creatures. "I'll bestow you with a great reward." promised the god. And so with a bit of convincing the elder sheep agreed with the Moon God.

The beast was weak to darkness. Because it was made by a god it can only survive in its creator's light. It was impossible for it to dwell in total darkness for too long, or else it'll evaporate into nothing. The elder sheep had suggested an enclosed area she knew from when she was a lamb. A clearing in a forest with a strange-looking cave entrance jutting from a hill. The cave had many twists and turns that only an animal as small as a sheep could comfortably travel through. Not only that but it was old and weakened by the elements, making the rocks around it quite loose.
