The Cartico Pack is a somewhat elusive one, though not entirely on purpose. Being somewhat nomadic, the pack is usually one you may stumble upon while wandering, or only catch the scent of from afar. This makes tracking them down somewhat difficult, though if you do, you will find they are quite friendly to travelers...so long as you don't pose a threat at least.
They follow the lead of a strange witch wolf named Vetrius Pathreader, who leads them in their travels for cryptic reasons seeming to relate to the phases of the moon. If you manage to sneak into their camp in the dead of night, you may observe that they seem to conduct odd rituals that vary depending on the moon as well.
Whether you track them down for your own purposes, wander into them, or find yourself accidentally caught in their temporary territory by them, you may be brought non aggressively to their camp. Once there, Vetrius makes sure to greet and inspect all newcomers, whether passer-throughs or not. She'll undoubtedly ask you to allow her to "read" you, and upon acceptance will present you with an odd bag of charms, upon which you will be tasked with randomly picking one.
She will look at the one you pick and scrutinize it closely, and then she will tell you what it tells her about you! Whether it reveals that you are a kind heart with a wanderlust, or a soul with the possibility of betrayal, will decide how the pack receives you. At worst, you may be turned away and herded dutifully out of the territory, but most readings are favorable, and are followed by an invitation to stay and rest your paws for as long as you need.
