PACK INFO
OOC/Playername: eve pronouns: he/him timezone: PST about: Heya! I'm Eve, or Star if you prefer nicknames, the guy that runs this account. I like wolves, genetics, music, programming and art! I can be a bit spacey at times, if I get lost in doing stuff, but I'm going to try to be active here on Wolvden as much as I can. |
Pack Lore InspirationsThe lore for this pack pulls inspiration from various sources: - The Warrior Cats and Pridelands book series' by Erin Hunter - The My Pride animation by tribbleofdoom on YouTube - The Wolves of the Beyond book series by Kathryn Lasky - The Sight and it's sequel Fell, novels by David Clement-Davies - Disney's The Lion King franchise |
Laws of the Wild
A pack is led by an elected leader and their mate; The pack leader's first name is changed to match the pack's. Shatterpack will always be led by a wolf who's name begins with "Shatter". Any wolf who wishes to become leader may call a vote. The loser of the vote becomes a normal pack member. If the challenger wins, the first part of their name will change to "Shatter". If the current leader wins, then nothing changes.
A pack member's name will begin with a word describing their appearance in some way, and end with a word describing their skills or personality. Pups are given incomplete names at birth. They earn their complete name by training and completing an assessment. New pack members are assessed as they join, earning their names right away.
Prey are respected as living creatures. The Laws of the Wild, as taught by the elders of a pack, state that an honorable wolf will never kill unless they need to in order to ensure the pack's survival, and this extends to prey. Wolves must always pick out the weakest animals to hunt, to help ensure that the next generation of prey is strong and healthy.
Some wolves are born gifted with various magical powers, such as the ability to speak to other animals or see the future through prophecy; While some may look to these wolves with suspicion, the Laws of the Wild state that a pack should welcome their wisdom and judge them based on their merit as individuals, rather than for an aspect of themselves that is out of their control. Wolves that are born with this magic are usually given special roles in the pack, such as prophets or seers.
