Seeking Truth in my Dreams
~Pictured above is the real Modnar, Hero From the Flames~
My mind has become so lost the clouds of the sky took it upon themselves to rest behind my eyes to shield me from the pain. For glassy eyes tell no lies, and see no future, this should bring me peace yet still my heart aches. The fog seeps deep into my mind, decaying what few memories I have left. I feel heavy, tired, drained.
My memories are slowly collapsing in on themselves, before I entered the Nevma Cosmos I saw her eyes regretfully strike through me as though I was nothing - yet somehow still full of love. Her teeth ripped into my flesh, fire shot through her own veins as acid erupted into mine. I burned out, she burnt up. For one blessed moment I saw love in her eyes. I felt all of her pain that I never knew existed, I saw her true nature behind the corruption. She loved me. She loves me. She carried so much regret and shame behind those dark orchid eyes and silently she told me she didn't want to do it. Although that could be in my head I'm so mad, I'm always imagining things. Before my brain was capable of any other thought, the world faded and I awoke here amongst the spirits. My mother isn't here, so where has she gone?
Time moves so differently here, how long has it been?
"Modnar," The Spirit Rues whispered, "There is an imposter threatening the island. You must wake up."
I've been stuck here for so long I forgot there was a world beyond this place. "You once said the worst of nightmares will lead to the greatest victories, did you not?" I dared question the Spirits with a cackle, teeth bared. "My body rests in flesh yet my mind decays here in ruins. What can I do? I am not dead, I am not living, I cannot help. This is my nightmare, now show me my victory."
"The souls of your loved ones live in this ghostly world, the ones whose vessels can no longer walk the island. They can heal you, they can help you; you just need to find them and reach out." The Spirit Rues wisped away, becoming one with the fog and collapsing amongst the misty azure trees. A path opened up, the crystal like leaves glistening for miles.
I'm so tired of journeys. So tired of fighting.
"Maddy!" Chuckled a watery voice.
The voice struck like a thousand pins, howled like a hundred pups, sounded weak and bubbly like a drowning soul echoing in every direction screaming my name.
"Maddy you silly, you joined us!" The final word trailed off into an electric whisper. Out from the mist manifested A'Lane. No wait, A'Bell?
She sounded staticky, Glitching and struggling to keep herself together. "Maddy plea-please staaay. Don't you love me? Me?" Reaching out her cold, shaking paw. Water slowly pooled from her jaws, eyes bulging and blue around the edges. "No, no, no. You must go." She corrected herself, partly whimpering yet giggling all the same. I tucked my tail by instinct, I hate talking to A'Bell but A'Lane knows how to help me.
"A'Lane please, stay with me. Please focus I'm breaking I need you."
Back on the island as Modnar remains stuck in her slumber fighting with The Spirit Rues and her memories struggling to come back to reality, an imposter is starting to gain power. She resembles The Hero From the Flames, promising to build a pack so close in resemblance that if Modnar ever awakens from the Nevma Cosmos her very heart and soul will be destroyed by the imposters she believes to be her friends.
"From the ashes of her failure I shall rise," The Imposter looked to the stars. "Whenever you dare show yourself I'll have my pack ready to tear you apart from your very core. Rise and shine little puppy, the fight was never over."
